So I just watched a game from the chinese TI qualifiers where a PL went early vlads. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get vlads on PL before, and I don't think the illusions even have the aura? I'm curious as to why vlads would be used on PL, especially as a first item.

EE thought vlads on pl is garbage a couple of months ago. He did mention he wants/need/musthave HP regen t be able to farm with any carry. On PL i saw him go for TQ boots that day, although thats questionable too, 500g for some slow regen and early armour..

nah but ee is right, you need some kind of substain to stay forever in the jungle
getting an early vlads also allows you to get an early rosh

There are other ways to sustain PL in the jungle than lifesteal. For example, illusions.

I think there aren't many good regen options for PL anymore. Vanguard is too slow. Tranquils are permanently broken on illusions (and rarely active on hero). Most other options are kind of meh. At least illusions get the vlads aura and has some sort of utility for pushing/roshing. If it gets you a tower or an extra rosh, at least the vlads would have paid for itself.

I don't build this item personally but of all the bizare item builds in pubs, this isn't a flame-worthy one.

a blanket statement like this is as useful as dog crap
if u actually played pl then u would know the sustain problem is real people are trying to discuss a viable option

I feel Vlads is sub-optimal on PL but that other options are even worse. Unless your teammates can provide you with the regen it's one of those icky items you're almost forced into.

11 game losing streak. And its not even completely because of allies (even though I did have a rubick that stole PA's items from courier, and a luna that started 2nd courier + circlet + quelling blade -> trying to jungle enemy ancients) but mostly because I'm trying to play my 10 in games where they just don't fit.

And my dazzle is awful.

Its ok, Im on a 5 game losing streak. I figure if I get down to single digit MMR, I will just loop back around.
