Hot_Bid summed up the reason I was brought on board(as well as many of the other staff members roles). There's also a "Replay Uploader" status but it's more for MiR access I think?
Pretty much, it's the lowest status you can be staff with... primarily given out just to have access to the MiR and such(for actual Team Liquid members, like Zephyr), or for actual replay uploaders (see paladinROMAD).

They dont actually do anything. Theyre just here to give readers the impression that the site is under control and working, while the sole person who does the real behind-the-scene work is banned periodically to reinforce the staff's visage.
