The question is:
Color blindness is an inherited characteristic that is more common to male than females. The probability of beingn red-green colorblind (event C) is .039, the probability of being red-green and male is .035, and the probability of being red-green colorblind is .491. Make a venn diagram and find the probability of each.
a) C' b. M (male) c. M' d. M' or C' e. C or M' F. M' and C
Another question: In a refugee camp in southern Mexico, it was found that 90% came to escape political oppression (O), 80% came to escape poverty (P), and 70% came to escape both. Make a venn diagram and find the probability of each.
a. P' or O' b. O and P' c. P and O' d. O' and P
I know for the refugee one, I have the middle as .7, oppression as .2 and poverty as .1 but I can't figure out the rest.
One more: A study on body type found that 45% were short, 25% were short and overweight, and 24% were tall and not overweight. Make a venn diagram and find the probability of each
a. person is overweight b. person is short, but not overweight c. person is tall and overweight
Thanks!

I think you need to make a venn diagram.

A) not poverty and also not oppression. should be .1 B) oppression, not poverty. oppression=.2 C) Poverty and not opression = .1 D) not opression and Poverty- same as above = .1
I hope I didn't screw any of the above up, but it should be evident on the venn diagram.

Ok thanks, I just got confused for the O' and also the P'.

2nd question:
took this out cause you already got it
3rd question:
sorry that i didn't upload an image or something but the venn diagram should be Short circle with 0.2, Overweight circle with 0.31, where both circles meet 0.25, and the outside of the two circles should be 0.24(tall and not oveweight)
sorry i didn't do the work.. i just had a HUGE chpt test on probabilities today and i don't feel like doing more work x\ ahah hopefully these are correct.. sorry if they're wrong! i tried =x

That's what I figured xD
GooDLuck O'=not O P'= not p in this notation anyway, usually it's more clearly denoted by bars or something. Kind of depends what your teacher has been telling you.

Ok well timchi you got different answers from waterclawghostdragon, I'll ask the teacher tomorrow. Thanks for your alls help

i learned it as something like O^C, so that would be O complement. but i guess O' works too
