I've been playing Sc2 for over 10 years now on and off(due to certain things, definitely not because I chose to stop playing, just certain personal endeavors that required my whole self physically(*yawn*)),
and, well, to put it simply, it has left a deep, Nietzche-esque abyss in my gaming heart and when I stare back at it, it stares back at me with those "I'll see you in ICU" eyes,
and it's scary. It scares me. Me and my girlfriend(yea, I have one, by the way, yes what's up my name is Fonze I blog stuff), we have trouble trying to let go, well I do, because we also played Fallout 4 for the Ps4 and that has left a HUGE void in our gaming hearts,
to the point where I'm still trophy hunting, and she's still doing Far Harbour quests, even though we have the Nuka-World DLC, and have had it for months now,
but anyways, my question to you guys, Teamliquid, how has one coped with the fact that Sc2 is such a game in which you invest your heart and soul into just being a fraction-of-a-bit similar to those who play professionally, yet when it's time to look at other games, get some diversity in, I have trouble picking a game to play.
I feel burnt out from gaming due to Sc2, since I've literally played no other game other than Fallout 4 since I started playing BW in 2002...
Please help...any thoughts?

I just moved away from gaming. Nothing else has really grabbed my interest so I focus on other things.

Have you played Fallout: New Vegas? Love that game.

I don't think you're into gaming at all. I think you're into competition. I had similar thoughts like you. I've truly enjoyed to play only bw and cs 1.6 and csgo. Every other game I've tried - pales in comparison, not worth my time. Diablo 2, WoW, some amazing RPGs, Heroes - nothing rings the same emotion like BW and cs. Alright, I admit, Quake II was also amazing to play deathmatch mode on the_edge with 8 ppl in the server and in 1v1 too, I give in to that as well. But my point still stands, I think you're into competition, not into gaming as such. I changed interests from gaming to Muay Thai and boom - the same thrill. Will I be better today than I was last time? I will try to and I will have fun while trying. So I advice you to find another activity, whatever that might be for you.

I don't think that this is a real problem to be honest. Just don't play video games if you don't enjoy them. There are many things out there for you to do with your life - have you not found anything non-gaming related that you love? What is your current job?
If you really want to play video games then I guess I can recommend Pheonix Wright on the DS, Chrono Trigger/Final Fantasy (up to 8), and Advanced Wars.
I've played a bunch of games in my life, and I'm at the point where there arent' that many left that are good that I haven't played (new games all suck in my opinion). I now don't like playing games other than SC2/BW which is good because I have serious academic interests these days that will take up the rest of my life.
