EPTI've been drinking a fair amount of water while watching State of the Game beforehand, and after I split workers and type "glgl" to my opponent, I feel that I need to use the restroom. After I scout his base in the top right corner of the map, I quickly type "pp" (pun intended) and dash for the bathroom. As I'm about to leave my room, I hear "game resumed," and I immediately turn around with this face.
Astonished, I run back to my laptop, completely forgetting about my urge to pee, and continue to play. I asked him why he didn't let me pause, but no reply. Now I really wanted to beat this guy. I did a super aggressive build with a handful of marines, 1 siege tank (siege tech on the way), and 1 viking. When I scan his base, I see a bunker being built and some marines. As I push out of my base I kill a scouting hellion from my opponent, so now I know he has a factory.
Once I get to the ramp to his natural, I siege on the low ground, and my tank starts to shell away at his bunker. Then, he retreats his marines, and salvages the bunker. I go back to my base to build a second Command Center, and end up losing a viking the process. My rally point wasn't set to his base, so I had a tank, 2 marines, and a viking sitting at the watch tower. My opponent gets a tank out and sieges up, and suddenly has 2 vikings. He destroys my push, so I grab the units at the watch tower, and fall back to my base. I throw down 2 more factories, put a reactor on my starport, and float my CC down to my natural. I take both gases at my natural, siege up, and start to turtle while pumping out more tanks, vikings, and hellions.
My macro was kind of bad, so I had 1k minerals banked and I take a hidden expansion in the top left corner of the map. I scan his base again, and he's just taking his natural expansion. In response to this, I take the expansion closest to my main. After that, I throw down 4 armories, and start upgrading my Mech army.
As I was playing, SlayerS Dragon's stream games on ladder of him play mech TvT on this map was running through my head. I start to build turrets everywhere around my tanks, and continue to do so as I push toward the middle of the map. When I get there he has some vikings and a battle cruiser. I throw down 3 more starports, and add reactors to them. He kills all of my vikings, and pulls back. I pump out more vikings as I mass Orbital Command Centers, like Dragon does.
I scanned his army and saw that he had more vikings than I did, so to free up some supply, I took my blue flame hellions and sent them to the bottom right bases of the map, and suicided them as the roasted some scvs. I started to be cute, and dropped MULEs on his tanks. I started to make more turrets toward his army, and he decides to engage. I had 3/3 vikings, and he had vikings, ravens, and 5 battle cruisers. Intelligently, he throws down 2 PDDs, so I back up while my turrets wail away at his air units. He continues to push with his air army, so I decide to engage.With my turrets and heavily upgraded vikings, his air army starts to dwindle. In the end it was just vikings shooting vikings with my turrets still firing away. I end up winning the air fight, and my opponent rage quits.
I don't think I've been more happy to win a game. ^^
Moral of the story: Manner up, and let me "pp."
