Sergov Australia62 Posts September 22 2011 15:51 GMT #1 ---INCOMING TRANSMISSION--- Chronological observation: Friday 12.47AM September 23 Location: 5th Division Gaming Battlecruiser Starsystem: CLASSIFIED --Start transmission-- "Liquid Prime, Please respond." "This is Liquid Prime. Please identify." "Liquid Prime This is the battlecruiser Sentience. Requesting encrypted channel to contact Fleet Command." "Request Accepted, Switch to Channel Designation Bravo." "Roger that Liquid Prime, Sentience out." It all started with a fight in a bar...... dont they always? I guess i should begin where it all began. We dropped into some backwater planet for supplies. It was just like any other back water cesspool ramshackle houses sat clustered together like the old western wagons you used to hear about when you were a kid, you know the ones about earth prime? Lokgnar landed the ship just outside town, to try and limit the attention we drew, it worked for a little while...... or so we thought. When we touched down our chief engineer Nez got to work on repairs while we headed in for supplies, we made good time in securing what we needed and repairing the ship, so i decided to give the crew some much needed free time and as usual we all ended up in the closest bar. A dank, dark, musty joint, the locals huddled up one end of the bar giving us the eye every now and then they knew we were outsiders i could see it in their faces. We took a table and ordered the local fare, when we were approached by one of the old geezers. "What be your business here" he demanded as he limped up to the table "Strangers bring nothing but trouble" he continued, obviously working himself up for a confrontation. I quickly glanced at the group over his shoulder they were starting to get up as well emboldened by their friends statement. As i opened my mouth to respond the ground beneath us heaved and threw everyone to the floor, someone had found us but who?..... hey TL here for a first review http://www.sc2replayed.com/replay-videos/13394 there is a replay i haven't got myself sorted with regard to a proper casting setup yet so unfortunately this will have to do for now ... i can handle a flame if its got some constructive criticism if your just flaming cause your bored, "meh" my first self criticism even though i won was poor in base macro. Hopefully this is just cause im REALLY rusty but regardless obviously i need to work on that it was a Terran V Protoss match-up on Shak. i spawned in the top left toss in the top right. i was trying for a 3 rax expand got it off after a while or so. another point..... KEEP SCOUTING... i looked over the replay i scouted him maybe 3 -4 times? not nearly enough to catch what he was doing yeah i caught the colossus but i over did it on the vikings ... and where the hell are my medivacs? i mass expanded in a small break in his harassing lucky for me it went unnoticed which gave me the resources i need to starve him out ... once he realised i had more than 2 expansions he left Please help tell me how i can improve without my just blundering from match to match watching my replays and hoping that i can pick where shit needs improvement but yeah i hope you like the intro 5thdiv_gaming Sergov NA/SEA ---END TRANSMISSION---

Daedaluz Germany19 Posts September 22 2011 17:53 GMT #2 I think the first thing that we can tell you is that you might want to think about your build choice. 3 rax before expand is quite allinish at high levels, which is generally not what you want to practice. Later on Protoss will easily hold a 3 rax by just forcefielding the ramp, which leaves you with a very very late expansion and no tech. If you think you are up to it (macrowise) try a 2 rax pressure expand. That build is able to punish stupidly greedy toss and still gets a decently fast expo. Build order is something like this: always keep making scvs 10 depot 12 rax 13 gas 15 OC build one marine then put a reactor on the rax 16 depot while the reactor is building build another rax and the depot a tech lab goes on the second barracks. When the tech lab is done make conc shells asap and push with your first marauder. You should have somewhere above 5 marines at the push. Just keep on making stuff and when you have the money expand. If you see he has a whole lot of stuff (many units) just pull back build a bunker or two and congratulate yourelf on getting economically ahead. If you see an expo just go try to kill it. If that does'nt work expand and try to get back into the game. I think this build is quite easy for a beginner, because it lets you expand decently early, is safe with bunkers and can pressure a really really fast expansion.
