When I decided to get serious about StarCraft, I picked Protoss. I was absolutely worthless at the game, so I picked the easiest race and just focused on macroing. I macroed my way to C+ without any game sense or strategy what so ever.
Then as I actually got decent at the game (B), I felt like I wanted to play Zerg more because they suit me better. I like being all over the map, doing multi pronged attacks and harassing a lot. But I just couldn't get over how shit ZvZ is, so I stuck with Protoss.
I've finally decided to switch to Zerg, 66% of the time :D I play ZvT, ZvP, and PvZ, which brings me to my question:
What do you guys think about racepicking? Obviously if I run into another racepicker we might have some issues. Do you think it's lame? Do you think it's fine?
Anyway, I've been playing Zerg, and it's absolutely awesome! although I love Protoss and Zerg equally as far as playstyle goes, Zerg just suits me and my skillset better.'
Edit: Switching my icon from Dragoon to Hydralisk. OH YEAH!

I was zerg/protoss in broodwar, so I (don't) know what it feels like to switch races and be good (because I SUCKED).

I've wanted to switch to zerg for some time now, but every time I tried to through with it I got demoralized by how bad I am with it. Being able to play several races and even race picking can only be a good thing imo.

Zerg is too hard. I am satisfied with just having a zerg icon :3

I used to play...ZvP ZvT and TvZ......even though I said that I mained Terran. >.>
After that I switched completely to Terran.
Best decision of my life.

I think it's perrfectly fine and understandable, but honestly, you're missing out an awesome matchup with ZvZ, it's really awesome to play !

I don't like watching it and I don't like playing it.

So many people hate ZvZ. It's difficult to find someone who will willingly play that matchup.
Racepicking is fine, but I personally never avoid any matchup. Zerg ftw!

I think it's fine to racepick, never had any problems with people that do it. I think it's cool knowing that people can play more than one race (even if it's only for 1 mu) at a high level

RacePicking is so hard. A long time ago I had the idea to go tvz, tvp, and pvt to avoid tvt. Of course focusing on Protoss for a bit left my Terran completely out of shape and now I play pvall.

I may be a Protoss player, but I absolutely love ZvZ, both playing and watching. It's often short and isn't very diverse, however it is a very tense MU that can end in a flash.
Oh and did I mention muta micro is pretty much the most awesome thing ever.

racepicking is awesome, but harder to practice both because you need to develop different skillsets for each race, instead of similar patterns all the time
