EPTSo this is the start of of my journey into Starcraft 2. Having spent many weeks/months watching Starcraft games online i finally decided to take the plunge and enter into the fray myself after watching day9 #269.
Watching that episode made me realised that really as long as i am having fun it does not matter if i step into the online world and get slapped silly time and time again. Which admittedly is the reason why i tend not to venture into the online gaming scene very often. If i am having fun then it should not matter, same way like when i used to play pool/darts with friends if i got beat who cares it was the playing that was enjoyable and winning sure its good a great feeling but hey ho we said 'gg' or similar and i put my name on the board and waiting till I could play again.
Yet i ramble basically i just came here to say hello and follow Sean's advice about reaching out here in the hope to find friends or like minded people to enjoy my Starcraft 2 time with.
I live in the UK and work for the NHS but gaming has been a big part of my social time since i was a youngster which goes back to the Amstrad CPC464. Having mainly spent the last 10+ years in the Diablo II and Warcraft this is really my first venture into the RTS genre online - I did play a bit of RTS games in the past with C&C but that was just single player. Got to admit I have few friends and am a bit of a loner which has its plus sides and downsides especially when it comes to delving into the online gaming scene.
What do I hope to get out of even writing this nonsense other than hopefully not making anyone that reads it fall asleep I am not sure – Heck I have no idea really what a blog is or how it should be made. Lets just say I hope to find some people that will join me as I trek from the bottom rung of the ladder.
Where I trek to is I suppose a goal I should have but I do not want to go down that path at the moment I am just happy to Play Starcraft 2 for Fun and Friendship.
