Don't fuck around here. I had an in-class essay to write on Friday, and ended up sleeping till 4 when the essay was at 1 (I was supposed to get up at 6). Don't even remember turning off my alarm. I'm assuming I turned it off in a sleepy stupor. Mom, you could have woken me up when I didn't get up for school, just saying! Got the teacher to let me write it on the exam day though, so no lasting damage.
Anyway, I tested this out over the weekend.

Makes some annoying-ass duck squawking sound, perfect for an alarm. On top of my normal alarm, I'm setting like 5 of these (on both monitors, so I don't spam x them). With all this late night studying and not sleeping, I can't risk it, and you shouldn't either. Good luck, people, study hard and become the academics of your generation!
EDIT: bird squawk? idk, some sort of fowl

loool, you're so lucky they got you to rewrite. Are you in high school?
I've got a psych final tomorrow and havn't started studying. ^_^

Uni, but it's an elective. EDIT: Karma can be a bitch, better not screw around.

This is why going to bed at a reasonable time is really important for unmissable appointments. Don't become over-reliant on alarms.
edit: I can't believe you're in university and he didn't just fail you lol. You must have a really convincing smile

Being a model student/high achiever gets has some benefits, maybe not regular ones, but when I need a lucky break, teachers are often willing to oblige. Back to studying.

Pfft sleep, exams are every year, but how often are you gonna get to watch All-Stars?
... that doesn't really work
i regret nothing

One alarm on the floor out of reach to wake me up and force me out of bed to turn it off, another set for one minute later on the little table in the hall outside my parents' room. Nothing wakes you up like a feeling of imminent screaming mother tantrums. Of course it's better to just study during the day and sleep well at night, but who does that?
|
I've found to set three alarms in successive order in intervals of 5 minutes to be great. One alarm set to 7AM, another set to 7:05 and another set to 7:10. And sometimes i'll set another to 8AM just incase i turn off those three and fell back asleep. But lately after having averaged about three hours a night of sleep due to an enormous workload, I'm good to go after the first alarm. Also, if you really need to wake up, splash some water on your face or try taking a shower as fast as possible.

I had two 8 AM exams last week where I only managed to fall asleep at like 4 AM.
Not fun.

VODs are always available... Then again, its just not as exciting to stream it live. :/

I have the same problem. If you look for my blog I have an entry about alarm clocks.
My suggestion is just to get a lot of alarm clocks; preferably ones that are difficult to turn off, so you won't "turn them off while in a stupor"

Get a good study habit guys.

I have 4 alarms set on my phone, all about 3 minutes apart. My phone is located in a place where I have to kneel down and reach behind my desk to get it, but it's still EXTREMELY audible to me in my bed. I find that I HAVE to do this to ensure I wake up. I've been 2 and a half hours late for work before due to only having one alarm :/
Super lucky for you that you got the chance to rewrite it. don't fuck it up!

I only have one alarm on my phone, however to turn it off or snooze it i have to do some mental math. Works quite well, before i just had an alarm that i could mash the snooze and sometimes id completely turn it off in my sleep, now i can't do that since i have to do a small math problem =p

Yeah I'm worried I won't wake up for my atmospheric chemistry exam on Tuesday :\

hehe "exam writers" confused the american in me but then I read your post.
lucky you got to retake it (see I'm an American!)
I usually use my phone on vibrate, and sometimes when I use my computer I use www.nakedalarmclock.com/ (which is totally safe I swear!)
