Ready for Day 2?
11:00 AM - So yesterday was a bit of a test run for me. With providing content for the MLG Live Blog being my top priority, I wasn't sure how much I was going to be able to check in with my TL blog. It wasn't as much as I had hoped :/. Being the only guy covering a 200+ person tournament is pretty demanding! ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
As the number of matches begins to get smaller, I'll have more time to check in here and report back. Don't think of this blog as an F5 spammer, just a place to check back occasionally for some tidbits from behind the scenes .
Some notes from yesterday:
Kiwi, Select and Drewbie are all undefeated in their Pools and looking very strong, while Liquid is really struggling in the Pool play (Ret 0-3, Tyler/TLO 1-2). Something appears to be going on with Liquid. They all seem off their game and not in their usual cheery mood, and rumors are circling that something bad happened on the streets of Dallas. I can't confirm or deny anything.
Axslav, StrifeCro, Cruncher, Catz, Sheth, Fenix, Naama and Inka are among the notables in the Open Losers bracket fighting for their tournament lives to. Big props to the guys who are still in it. The field was TOUGH and nearly 8 straight hours of tournament-level competion is very strenuous.
Going to get food for now, I'll check back in soon!
11:45 AM - Just grabbed Tyler for a few words. He said he was definitely off his game, and was especially disappointed with his match vs. Drewbie, which he felt he should have won. I sat behind him for most of the Drewbie match yesterday, and he was ahead in game 3 before his army got caught horribly out of position, swinging it back in Drewbie's favor.
He also felt like his play against Machine just wasn't his best, but he is confident that after talking with teammates before bed last night that Liquid as a whole will rebound today.
Haypro is about to play his OBR5 match on one of the feature stations against a guy who's MLG ID is nkulunkulu...lol. He is a strong sponsored player though, so I'm going to try and find out his SC2 handle here shortly. Huk is also up next on the stream, and KawaiiRice v Spades is coming up soon, which should be an interesting match.
1:10 AM - The madness of Day 2 is finally over. My recap of Day 2 will be up on the MLG site shortly, going over who placed where, notable placings and exits, and the starting schedule for tomorrow.
With the number of matches being much lower on Sunday, you can expect my coverage on the MLG Live Blog to be much more detailed, as I'll actually have time to sit and watch some matches as opposed to reporting mass results from the huge player field. This will give me a better chance to give you all recommendations for games to look for when replays come out as well.
I should also have more time to get small clips, and maybe even full interviews from players as the day goes on, so make sure to look out for those. I'll try and post links to the full interviews or at least snippets of them in my TL Day 3 blog as I get a chance.
All internet issues aside, the quality of play at this tournament has been awesome so far. I was watching from Idra's POV in the infamous Game 2, and I didn't know those Voids were hallucinated either .
Another game to absolutely look out for when replays are released is Qxc v Haypro Game 2. 45 minute long spilt map on Metal. It was absolutely epic!
See you all tomorrow . Thanks for hanging in there despite the technical issues. People are here working overnight to try and get them fixed for tomorrow. Trust me, the guys here are working very hard!

Just wondering, is there any place we can leave feedback for the MLG?

Hmmm something went down on the streets of Dallas - yeah that sounds like bad news for focus...

Watch tyler finish 2nd in his group after he beats the open bracket guy ><

2:00 PM
After some latency delays (thanks Blizzard), the tournament is back underway. Axslav is looking strong and staying alive in the Losers Bracket, while beasts like Huk, Haypro and Naniwa are staying alive in Winners play.
I got a chance to talk to the popular streamer Mr. Bitter after his Open Bracket Losers match this morning, which he won. He's a very cool, humble guy just as I or anyone that watches his stream would expect.
He said that he nearly lost when he got caught trying to cheese/allin, but when he falls back on a safer, macro style he feels very comfortable and confident in his play. He should be around in the later stages of the Losers Bracket if he continues playing the style he's comfortable with.
Also, SixjaxVibe completely destroyed LzGamer a little earlier. I was watching his POV both games, and his multitasking is as good as anyone I've seen at this tournament. He's definitely going to be threatening for one of the coveted Pool spots.
I'm back out to the floor, see ya soon

really? You are gonna blame blizzard, really? I know there should be lan, but you knew there wasn't lan, and no one else has reported battlenet issues, you just need more stable internet

Any news on Destiny (Steven_Bonnell II)?

He's still alive in the Losers Bracket, doesn't play until round 5 or 6 I think. We're about to enter round 4.

No, there should actually be lan. Always having stable internet for an event like this at a convention center is not an easy feat.
