I am making this blog because I cam up with a new tournament idea but want some feedback on it (good or bad but please be construcitve) It is a school league for young players (grade 6-12) It would be the North American High School/Elementry School School Star League. It would be a lan (or online) tournament to see what is the best school in NA. It would start out as an online tournament for the city champs, and the best in that city would go to the online provincial champs and then to the NA champs (a lan). It would be a CW style and the winner would be known as the best high school/elementry school in NA and recieve some computer equipment. What does everyone think of this idea, I am not sure it would work with all the young people.
Poll: What do you think about the NAHSESSL?This is a bad tornament idea! (33) 89% Great Idea! (4) 11% It May Work. (0) 0% 37 total votes Your vote: What do you think about the NAHSESSL? (Vote): Great Idea! (Vote): It May Work. (Vote): This is a bad tornament idea!

Woah, that's actually a REALLY cool idea. Maybe grade 7 - 12 though.. 11 seems a bit young. But so does 12. =_=
Nonetheless, you could divide it into High School or Elementary School I suppose ;o
But a cute idea for sure =D

I would like it to post why you don't like it, if you are one of those people.

If this became real I am sure we could get sponsors and donations.

Really? I'm pretty sure of the exact opposite.

Seeing as I don't live in NA I ofc wouldn't know, but I've organized some badminton tourneys here in DK and finding sponsors is REALLY easy if you do your homework good enough...

I just hate how people pronounce it as Nasal.
Edit: Oops shoulda actually read the thread. I thought the thread title was making fun of NASL. oops

I think it needs to be a longer acronym.
In all seriousness though, I honestly don't think the competitive leagues should be younger than college/ university.

IF you could get the sponsors, sure it could work, but you have no chance unless you can manage sponsors. Don't jump in to something you aren't sure will work out financially.

I think the whole idea is too premature for any kind of opinion.

I'm sure you can get sponsors for a 1 or 2-day tourney/fun-day quite easily. However, getting sponsors for a prolonged league where teenagers play video games against each other over the internet would be really hard, I'm sure - especially since paying teenagers a tippence to play videos is hardly good PR, and also, the standard of the games will be comparatively poor.
It's certainly not a new idea, but I don't think it would succeed unless you structure it like junior chess tourneys which only last 1-2 days or even just an afternoon.
Also, the name is horrible. You should make it shorter like JSL - Junior Star League.
