Which will make your folder appear like this: If you want to remove columns just right click on the column headers ("Name", "Type", etc) and remove the columns you do not want... Which should end up looking similar to this: Which is what you want if I read your post correctly. Edit: On July 17 2010 13:52 QuothTheRaven wrote: Well, you could resize the window so that everything is in 1 column. Or you could just use "Details" view instead of "List" view, since Details will just have 1 vertical column and won't overlap like that. Other than that, I don't know. Pretty much this...

Actually, I just checked Nautilus (the file manager for GNOME), and it handles it in a much better way. + Show Spoiler [examples] + I just noticed that I used the arrow key rather than clicking, but clicking has the same behavior as you see below. + Show Spoiler [example 1] + Before selecting: After selecting: + Show Spoiler [example 2] + Before selecting: After selecting:

Or click and drag the bottom border of the window down - the list will automagically fit into the window. Or hit the maximize button at the top right corner of the window; plenty of space for your files. This is not a Windows 7 issue. List View behaves as it should.

The "problem" is that you click on a song a which the title is only partly visible. So when you click it Windows will adjust itself for you to be able to see the whole title. If you really don't want this to happen just change from "list" to "details" (my personal standard way to view).
