After weeks of grinding through pvp after pvp after pvp, I finally ascended my way to the top of my gold division with a stellar record of 52-30 (or something like that). After promptly losing 3 games in a row, I won one final game to see that I was promoted to platinum! I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, seeing as how I late losing and I'm probably going to lose a lot more now, but I guess it's kind of nice to know that I don't completely suck at this game haha
Now a question, I got moved to platinum, but I still seem to be placed in the same gold division, just with no ranking. At the same time, after every game I play I get points and see my ranking in platinum, but I can't access the overall platinum division rankings so I can't see my score. This is a problem both in my profile and the ladder tab. Anyone else have this problem after getting moved up a division?

Congrats man!! Is there any way to re-play placement matches, because played mine at 1AM with no knowledge of the hotkeys and ended up in Silver (eew)
Or do i have to just go through the ranks.

IDK. I am at the top of the gold league and I have beaten number 1 platinum players before. I honestly don't think rank means much once you get up to top 10 of your division. but congrats anyways

Ah, damn you. I was going to make the first ever iccup-style brag blog when I hit plat.

I recently got promoted to platinum, I went 16-4, gained tons of points, but then I started losing a lot, dropping to 28-26. It seems that if you are a high rank, winning gives you a lot of points, but if you are a low rank in the platinum, most games you win are like +7 but whenever you lose you lose like 15-17. The ranking system seems a bit broken right now imo, hope blizzard fixes this by the release.

Congrats man!
I went 4:1 in placement matches and got into Silver.. Don't really understand this lol. I had 1 bad game as protoss because of stupid marauder/ghost push.
Now I'm grinding my way up with a 19-7 ratio atm. I need to hurry and get into Gold/Plat... People in Silver are so badddd lol.

Yeah I'm pretty sure thats it. I am now 21-8 and finally got promoted into Gold League in 4th in Rank. Just got to keep on grinding!

Hm, so no one else had this issue of their division not showing up correctly after getting promoted? wtf is wrong with mine ><
|
I have the same problem, I can't see the list of players on my division or my rank. Although I haven't been promoted or demoted.
|
Congrats! :D i'm at like the very bottom of gold right now ):

Hm, still having this problem on a side note, a lot of people in platinum really suck still, if my ranking is correct i moved to #3 in platinum in like 2 days lol

People are talking wether you pick Beginner or Veteran or w/e was in the middle also counts on what league you will get. (Veteran pickers will get Platinum even 4-1, and I heard people only getting to Gold even after going 5-0, perhaps due to them picking beginner.)
Which makes me think you picked beginner hoping to bash some noobs.
Gongratz on getting Platinum man! It's not really that different from Gold till you make it top 10, but you will notice that games will take longer to get when you hit top 10, especially in the 2v2 section, and games will get increasingly harder, and like someone pointed out, you wont gain ridicolously amount of points.
EDIT: Also look at your points and your division. On my another account I'm ranked 1-3 on Platinum with my Protoss, but only hovering little under 10 on my Zerg which is 200 times better then my Protoss, mainly because the competition in that division is much higher since it's older, meaning the points are also much higher.

I picked beginner during my placement matches and went 4-1. I got placed into Gold.
Also, good job KOFgokuon. ^_^ I'm sitting at the top of my Gold division with like 12 games played. I haven't played in a while so I probably fell down to like rank 20 due to other people laddering ahead of me.
I think this motivates me to get back on and hit platinum though.

When the full game comes out, is the ranking system still going to have leagues (plat, gold...)?
|
Congratulations on your promotion! See you in the ladder

Pretty much everyone else in my division was also 4-1
