25% tournament winners/top finishers, yes that might have to include 'lesser' tournaments if no big ones have happened
75% top X in ladder ratings
0% guyz who were good in sc1 and obv must be at this one too

Do you realize that there are cash tournaments happening on a weekly basis, and as such it matters A LOT who the perceived "best" players are right now? Nobody gives a shit if the players who are good right now are good in 2 years, but when determining who to invite for events and stuff, it is actually really important to want to have the best players possible, and as such, knowing who the best players are is equally important. The fact that SC2 is in beta stages literally has nothing to do with it. -.- Ditto this, especially when some of the $$$ tourneys are invite only so the perception of who the best players are is in fact really important. I think the issue is that among the top there are lots of players who are fairly close in skill. Since the game is not as much of a science as broodwar was (it hasn't been "solved" and patches are occurring frequently) on a given day it is likely any player in the top 5% of skill level could beat any other player. I'm hoping that some of these upcoming weekly cash tourneys on the US server (which so far the US server has lacked) will give all players a chance to have themselves shown.

My opinion means absolutely nothing on skill in the beta given I've never touched it, but would any high level player possibly agree that among the top 5%, there's another subdivision of players who have better habits than the rest? Particularly with regards to scouting.and a few other smaller things. I don't know if it's translated into more tournament success and even with all the VODs I watch, it's probably <1% of the games they've played. I'm not sure how to describe it. Maybe it's just a matter of refinement. Some of the best players seem to do more things correctly, or at least more efficiently, than the other players. Anyone agree, or should I just follow IdrA's suggestion?

How about we grow up, and maybe you can ask for their to be 8 teams next time instead of 4 (as opposed to being biased for your team). That probably won't happen in Smuft's Tournament's case for betting purposes, but letting TL know you think you're better doesn't really help.
