D+ : The Epic Struggle of a D Rank Player

Yesterday night I told myself to reach D+.
I have been raped by konadora countless times. I probably win like 3 in 20games. My first win against him was on monthy hall where i used protoss and cannons to surround his main and contain him as a zerg on 1base.

Before I began on my adventure, I was at 1300 rating with a 9-13 W:L ratio. Prior to my quest, 3 of those losses were to konadora.

Alas i did hit D+ going 9-1 in my last 10 and bringing up my W:L ratio to 58%

Apparently my best matchup according to stats is zvp at 100% O_O. Personally i feel better playing against a terran because I've been raped so many times in the past.

My worst matchup is zvz at a whopping 0%. I blame the timezones because when I play at night gosu D level koreans are playing.

To celebrate, here is a battle report of one of my sacrifices.

The map is Lost Temple.

With my starsense last night i managed to deduce that there is going to be some sort of rush comming.

I wanted to 12 hatch but I'll settle for a 12pool to be safe

Marines SCVs and minerals are a really strong unit combo.

My pool going down. I thought I was fucked.

At that point I didn't know he had no SCVs mining so i decided to try for a counter attack to damange his "economy".

Wanted to build a sunken but the pool went down T_T

Thank god I had the clarity of mind to go for the marines.

I just wanted to kill marines >_>

At the last moment he claims the creep colony with his remaining SCVs and taps out.

To conclude, MY OPPONENTS REALLY LIKE TO BUILD STUFF IN MY BASE.

seems like alot of people are reaching D+. crazy streak, had one like that which propelled me to D+. Was sitting in mediocrity and pulled 3 straight TvP wins and 2 straight TvZ wins and got to 2001 points. oh, the satisfaction.

I felt I had it in me to reach a rank above D. I never really tried untill last night. I take games off konadora sometimes who is C- :D

haha I know what you mean, I always thought that I had enough skill to reach D+ or higher, because I can take games off D+ players and stuff, and I got to D+ monday night, for the first time ever, then proceeded to win 4 more times in a row, in my weakest matchups (pvt/pvp)
