Special Proleague between ex Samsung Khan and ex STX Soul
|
But Mini "abandoned" his STX teammates to play in the normal daily proleague
|
By the way, are Proleagues currently in their most prosperous time?
Now K League has divided into K1 and K2 Leagues, with K1 being the traditional K League (now with Rain parking regularly and Shuttle dropping down from MPL), and K2 involving the likes of Tyson, YSC, Motive, Paralyze, Noob, Kop, Shinee, Ample, BTS, Hm, and even top amateurs like Zelot, Yoon Absolute, Saber... and the funding for K2 is not bad at all (~ 1 mil per winner which was the standard for MPL a while ago).
On peak days there could be 3 Proleagues running at the same times with 30 players participating. And that's not to count those "student leagues" from BJs (mostly girls) .

Can you provide some stats for november whenever you got the time to do so? really enjoy looking at those stats, and by the way, thanks for the work mr TMNT

November stats coming soon...
Meanwhile we only have a K League today

Time to have a look at Major Proleague in November
In November, the Starcraft University competition did interfere with Proleague schedule a little bit. Despite that, it was still going strongly with steady financial backing from Korean viewers. The players enjoyed yet another month of high earnings.
Well, unless you are Snow. Just look at the disparity between his winning money and the rest of the table, despite him having a 58% win rate - third in the ranking. He started the month with a losing streak of 7 Proleagues in a row, while having the best win rate. It's all the more bizarre that this is the third time this year this happened to Snow. The guy must have been cursed when it comes to team game.
It's only been fitting that the top two players of November are the champion and runner-up of the last ASL, Soulkey and Mini, with a negligible difference in win rate. But it's worth noting that this is the first time Mini returned to the top 3 by win rate since March, and the second time for Soulkey since February (his first return was last month). Talk about hitting form at the right time.
Light at 4th in the ranking feels ever so right, as you don't ever expect him dropping down to the bottom half of the table. So is Soma in 5th place. But it's refreshing to see Jaedong and Hero in the top half of the table for once, after so many months languishing in the bottom half for both of them.
In general, it was such a good month for the Zerg players in Major Proleague, with 4 out of the 5 being in the top half of the table, having the most MVP performances and the only all-kills out of the 3 races. Even the worst among them, Queen, had a respectable win rate of 48%, after spending 3 months of barely breaking the 40% barrier.
On the other hand, it was not a good month for Terrans, with 3 out of the 4 dropping to the bottom half, in particular Royal and Rush who are at the absolute bottom if we don't count Shuttle who was on borrowed time in Major PL.
Talk about Shuttle, the 22% win rate here is actually based on his record in the early part of the month. November 11th 2023 marks his last appearance in Major PL (at least for now). He has since then dropped down to K-League (and hasn't been exactly dominating there either).
And that leaves us with 13 regular MPL players at the moment, as Rain and Effort have been camping in K-League again, with sSak Sharp and Mind having only a few appearances in MPL here and there. By the way, Rain had a win rate of 70% in K-League in November. Talk about "parking".
The last point I want to say is that the Proleague system has now divided into Major Proleague, K1 League and K2 League; with K1 League being the former K League plus Rain, Shuttle, and Mong + Action + Shinee (who were all active before but for some reason didn't participate in Proleague much); and K2 League the new one with the appearances of lower level pros and top amateurs such as Tyson, YSC, Motive, Paralyze, Noob, Ruin, Kop, Ample, Scan, Taenggu, soso, True, Hm, 815, Zelot, Yoon, Absolute, Saber and probably many more to come. Exciting time.

mini and soma, the two most likely to all-kill, have the highest earnings. i wonder if that’s just a coincidence or if there’s some correlation there.
edit: maybe not xD mini didn’t earn much last month now that i checked
|
The most reliable correlation is number of games vs earnings, simply because if you participate more you earn more. With this format the team win rate of each player should be around 50%, unless you're Snow lol.

Scan in K League today

|
I just want Effort to play in the MPL
|
Nice seeing Scan

Late update for yesterday's K-League. Queen has been spending a lot of time in KL recently hmm...
|
There was also a mixed proleague yesterday with 2 female players.
It is interesting because it features the best PvZ of the year in my opinion: game 1 set 2 Best vs Soulkey on Retro. To sum it up: the loser gg'd at 01:16:03. Must-see.

+ Show Spoiler +At 36:32 of Best vs. SK did they call the pylon an Artosis pylon? or are they saying something else

What they said there was 열두시 (yeol-du-si) which means 12 o'clock because there was an attack there.
The last 30 minutes of that game. I wonder if + Show Spoiler +Best could have just mined gas for forever and used his remaining minerals to make a bunch of Archons and plow through the Sunkens. That instead of spending all the minerals on scarab. In the end there was 2 Sunkens left and he found a patch worth 124 minerals which was just enough. They're calling him Colombus lol.

this has to be one of the legendary games of all-time, never seen anything like this

think i recall a game like that before, bisu vs larva IIRC
+ Show Spoiler +dark archon, archon, templar become so stupidly OP in mined-out super late game scenario
|
Yeah I recall seeing a Bisu vs Larva game a long time ago where Bisu made a lot of DAs like that, but in that game I think he also had the army left to finish Larva.
