I made these images too damn large but I am too lazy to change them. I'll have to deal with it.
Dinosaur Jr. - Plans
Just the right levels of whiny and sad, J Mascis is a legend.

Bright Eyes - The Calendar Hung Itself
Shit sucks, and Bright Eyes are so willing to remind us both musically and lyrically. This could have been many songs by them.

Toe - グッドバイ (Goodbye)
This drummer rocks my socks and the song is beautiful through and through.

Maps and Atlases - Every Place Is A House
I love guitar wanky math rock. Insanity is good in lower doses.
+ Show Spoiler +
Loose Lips Sink Ships - Coach Kukoc's Croatian Couscous
A bit more digestable and smooth flavor of mathy rock.

Long Distance Calling - I Know You, Stanely Milgram!
Who's Stanely? I don't know. But this song and the album it comes from is pretty awesome so who cares? A lot of people don't like 3rd wave post-rock/metal, but I think there's a lot of good stuff in there.

The Dear Hunter - The Procession
Yes, this Dear Hunter, not the more popular one with a similar name. I like both! This band is a guilty plessure, but I love Casey Crescenzo's voice, like his songwriting and just the style of this band's "Acts" albums.

Deerhunter - Desire Lines
Completely different sonically, but equally as likeable as the other one.
+ Show Spoiler +
The Outlaws - Green Grass and High Tides
Yup. Sometimes you just have to get your southern rock on and embrace your redneck roots. Told you these wouldn't be too obscure but oh well.

The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die - Getting Sodas
I hate this band name. HATE IT. But I can't deny they make great emo music. Especially when they blend in some post rock.
+ Show Spoiler +
Bonobo - First Fires
Hey, I actually do listen to something that isn't rock. Who'd have thought? A positive effect of my stoner days was discovering that non-hard rock music exists, and a little bit of non-rock in some way stuff snuck it's way in there.

Wishbone Ash - Time Was
70's Prog Rock! Now I'm a true nerd!

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven
I cannot pick one song from this album, so I'll post all 4 of them together! Listen to this. Now, drop what you're doing, crank it and just listen. 4 20 minute masterpeices back to back, taking us on a journey through the end of the world.

Son House - Death Letter
The namesake of my in game Sc2 account. You have to respect the for grandfather's of modern music, the blue's musicians. I'm posting this one instread of the more popular White Stripes cover for the pure sake of hipster cred, but I'd be lying if I said that's not where I first heard to song.
+ Show Spoiler +
And So I Watch You From Afar - Set Guitars To Kill
And now for the TL account name sake! Just as the last, chosen because I happened to be listen to the song as I chose the name. Great song though, tons of energy. Saw this band live a while back and it was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had (I PLAYED HIS GUITAR DURING THE FINAL PLAYOFF, HE LITERALLY HANDED IT TO ME!).
+ Show Spoiler +
Please, if you have at all listened to any of these songs, let me know what you like and what you think I should listen to. I'm all ears for whatever you got!
