So little hope for foreigners making it big in Korea now D: BTW, can we NOT let this thread turn into "lol omg at leest we haz idra guise!" Idra's cool and all (in my opinion), but this thread isn't about him. It's about NonY.

in case it was planned and college, girlfriend, life > progaming. Then why not let someone else go, a person who would stay and try.

..that HE'S A FREAKING DUKE GRADUATE!!!!!!!!!! Obviously even if it's not Starcraft anymore, as far as I remember, being a Duke graduate does mean something! It means he has a higher chance than most of us here in securing a nice good freaking job that's like 1000 times better pay than a typical average salary of being a progamer..... So I'm not worried or concern for him much regarding his future..... I do though, wish the best of luck and future for him! But like I said... Duke University...

You do realize top tier progamers makes a lot of money, right?

Yes..... hell, BoxeR made 6 figures (in US dollars) at one point annually in his life of progaming... how the hell would I not know that? But for NonY to become a top progamer... well I can see him as a popular favorite but not as a top and besides, think about it, a job where you get like 50k every year plus raises later on vs one good year of 6 figures (if you're really lucky too) after a series of like 4 figures or less amounts of money...... and then go down with your salary again after your fame disappears and you go on a slump... (I'm talking in US dollar btw)

Jesus christ its not his fault you guys look up to bw players and are shattered when things dont turn out the way you envisioned them in your fairytale. WHy not let someone else go? How many fucking times does it need to be said that its not like other people havent had the chance to go. Fuck why dont you go and go play in courage yourself and maybe get picked up by a pro team? Or shop yourself around? I really doubt theres this plethora of players who are "good" and want to go but are being held at arms length by some mysterious korean hand that says only so and so can go and if you go no one else can go. Fuck off.

But the real reason your post is dumb is because no one plans a "fun vacation time" in which they're working for 10-12 hours a day.
