I am a master Zerg player. There is nothing more interesting for me then going on TL and reading a good Data filled post with data and statistics such as mining rates, and timings and all of this good stuff.
What upsets me lately is that there have been little quality posts of lately that I can really sink my teeth into. Its all a bunch of people asking for help with their builds and mostly diamonds and plats looking for help. Not that there is anything wrong with this, but I have been longing for another LaLush post about "mining rates", longing for another "comparing Zerg opening" thread.
Even trying to watch streams I seem to catch no players of importance on that is above my level.
Does anyone else agree with the lack of "data articles" recently? Or have I just been unlucky and not seeing some goldmines of a thread?
I think it's more that just people have figured out the game. There's no need to investigate which opening is the best(although people still come up with new ones every day). We've been playing for a year, people are going to have figured this stuff out. Really I don't expect much more of the "data scientist" jazz anytime soon.

I'll likely add another later in the week, but for the moment I have a feeling that the dearth of SC2 science articles might have something to do with it having been end-of-term time, stranding would-be SC2 academics in a purgatorial nightmare world of exams and assignment submissions.

Some pro players (which are normally the ones who really come up with interesting posts) have said that it is annoying when they put their effort and knowledge into a post that quickly gets plagued by comments that lack basic understanding of the game, so I guess that could be a reason.
Also, I cry every time someone says a statics chart is scientific work =(

Thats because in the US the school year is really short because the school year is still based on an agricultural calendar and you are supposed to be tending the fields all summer.
In the UK school doesn't end until july and starts again in september.....

:D also you could gain some data yourself and go for your own article. Data threads have always been rare though
