Going all the way to the USA to have to fight through all the open bracket for a 5k price is just not worth it. Where did you find the interviews by the way? yeah i hope mlg ramps up the prize a bit. but you have to understand that it is just a 3 day event so of course the prize isnt that high. 3 days for 5k is very good. give less to the noob console games(20k for halo is a joke, even though its.a.team) and more to sc2 will be an incentive. I completely understand thorzain doesn't want to fight through open bracket again. Same with the Koreans.

Thorzain is 20-21 on the points ranking though so if 4~5 players above him miss out, he might consider going. Well while that is true, it's mostly due to MLG treating open-bracket players like crap and not giving them breaks on their strict schedule, like ThorZaiN said he could not get water or to go the bathroom because MLG would have disqualified him if his name was called and was not there for his match if he would have left for a while. So while he did perform well, it was a shitty feeling and the conditions were terrible.

You have to remember that the MLG events are a "circuit". The last event - the Championship - will have much, much larger prizes for the winners. These are all lead-up events, amazing as they are on their own.

Didn't he beat lalush 3-0 as T in the WCG-qualifier?

Should be noted that the reason cited was bad organization of the tournament and bad treatment from the admins.

YA a lot of people forget that, like the GSL superturny you are kinda playing for points for the championship to get a place. Kinda sucks cause all Tzain would need is one more good finish at anaheim to get himself a spot in pool play.

Thorzain seemed quite unhappy with how they had no scheduled breaks and he thought the admins weren't helpful at all.

Ye I heard stories of people not even being able to eat or go to the toilet incase they had a match. MLG as a tournament good games and streaming aside is shitty. The format is horrendous, extended series, seeding. They really need to start a fresh, they should of done at the start of this years circuit. Just because you played last years ciruit shouldnt effect this years circuit.

Maybe they should start the open bracket a day earlier and give the players a little more breathing space.

Yes, pretty crazy that they are still playing. They must be dead tomorrow.
