How in the world does a mediocre protoss losing to Jaedong in the late game = protoss having no chance vs a defensive turtle zerg? Take your retarded balance statements to an sc2 thread.

I actually thought that was one of the more interesting PvZ series in recent memories, particularly because both players opted for the same general strategy/game plan over all the games. It was really interesting to see how each player immediately adapted and adjusted according to what happened the game before. Super cool to see the different understandings and approaches to the matchup from the same general framework.

I thought that Jaedong was toying with Grape for the last 15 mins or so. Every time Grape tryed to go out of his base he just got anihilated. I can understand that he typed out before being formally dead.

Jaedong never knew exactly what Grape's army consisted of until the very last push by Grape, and if he just a moved all his units, then yes, it's apparent to us that he would've rolled Grape, but from a player's perspective, going against a super late game P and losing your whole army without killing the Protoss usually means the Protoss ball can roll you as a counter. Jaedong knew he was super ahead, but didn't want to throw it away with one silly attack so he just bode his time.

He probably thought all his efforts up to this point were futile, while he actually played very well. Ya, exactly. I do this all the time when I'm playing vs someone on Iccup that I know has a much higher rank than me. No matter how well I'm actually playing I still just feel despair and that I'm ultimately going to lose no matter what. Then I go back, watch the rep and realize ''Hey, if had just remained focused I would've actually been in a decent spot here!''. I think that was Grape's big problem in the last game; his mental strenght.

Not that I mind this style of zerg strategy. Quite the contrary. It makes for great games, especially when put against a competent opponent. Much better than lair all-ins preferred by many lesser players.

- Identical games from Set 2 til Set 4 - Players adapt as the games/set progress - Match Winner takes the loser to unknown depths in mental fortitude, loser surrenders

I think that was Grape's big problem in the last game; his mental strenght. He'll get stronger as he goes along, I don't blame him though. I mean all his attacks were dealt with, and they were spectacular attacks with great storms etc, but it just seems like he never had enough steam to break through JD's army and defenses, would have chipped away at his confindence
