Same here.
About the NA beta.. some people are playing I think, they're being selected or something like that. It's weird, but I hope we're close to release.

Has anyone seen a guide showing how U.S. players can participate in the Korean beta?

Ahh, this looks like a promising game.. too bad it's not out in NA T_T

i think this is starting to late to really compete with Rift, SWTOR and GW2... the community is losing intrest already

It's going to be released in about 6 months. 6 months before RIFT's release nobody knew a damn thing about it. And SWTOR and GW2 are hugly hyped but nobody knows if they really are going to be succesful. No need to play Nostradamus here.

I think the community know quite a lot about it really as its been out in korea for awhile so there are plenty of vids, and I know it'll be a preorder purchase for myself, just gotta be patient ^^

I said nobody knew about RIFT. Not Tera.

Think the NA beta will be out soon? Is this game much of a hit in korea? I've been looking for a new mmo to play and this one seems pretty cool, I like how you actually have to aim and dodge.

I really want to play the game!
One issue with the game is that the female character design is.... 'atrocious', if you will. Typically I like to play female characters (come on, who wants to stare at a dude for hours and hours), but the design in this game probably will make me NOT want to show my friends my characters.

Because it's a silly excuse for men who want to play a female character (which is perfectly fine because your character is not supposed to be mirroring your real life self) but are so pathecically afraid of homosexuality that they pretend it is for some super manly reason.

Pretty much true. Not all the time though. I think it depends on the way it's put.
One is more, "I only play a girl cause I don't want to start at a dude all day" and the other is "chicks are hotter" :p
I played a male paladin in WoW since closed beta in vanilla and I don't recall "staring at my character's ass all day" anyways. lol.

I am pretty sure it's not because of homosexuality.
Instead you may say I am perverted to enjoy playing female characters more (not sure if you call that manly, but o well). Like you said, the characters I play is not a personification of myself in the game world; instead, I may enjoy having a hard-on while I play. There is nothing wrong with that so long as I do it in the privacy of my room and my girlfriend is not watching.
I have a feeling that if my girlfriend found out I play a female TERA character she might get angry at me.

Sometimes true; when I played Guildwar I play male Warrior and female Mesmer. I felt that a warrior should be male; for Mesmer it was kind of a toss-up, but the male Mesmer looked kind of .... 'gay', if you will, so I opted female instead.
Although I admit my choice of playing a female Elementalist was entirely due to my wish to enjoy watching a girl in short skirt running around. Meh. There is nothing wrong with trying to enjoy a bit of virtual booties.

Aye. I always played what I felt more appropriate. I had one character in WoW but in other games I generally stuck with what I felt like roleplaying. :p I RP'd a ton and have no issue playing male/female characters. I found it more funny than awkward when people would try and hit on me in whispers during an RP session, only to find out I'm a guy.
and before you ask, no I've never pretended I was a female out of character while RPing a female, nor did I do any naughty RP. I DO draw lines somewhere, haha.

By the way, if there are still people starting to play the korean retail version: The official download is really slow. Like reaaaaaaaallllllyyyyy slow, and it's 27 gigs. But as of now it can be found at usual torrent sites, it's ~10 seeders 30 leechers or something most of the time, but it's way faster than the official download. I hope it's not unappropriate to post this, the client is worthless without an account anyway.

Sadly it seems TERA was delayed for US release until Q2 2012. Hopefully for more good then bad. Huge Content patches coming out in Korea over the next few months which will probably be in US/NA Launch. I'll try to get some info updated into the OP soon.

First time I'm hearing about this and I work for an official fan site.
They are now busy with E3 preparations, so there is definitely new info coming, but I haven't heard anything about any delay. After that, there is going to be another test, more open this time, not only community selected members.
We got to experience only a roughly translated Korean version anyway.
If you're thinking about playing in Korea, then stop. I played a few characters to lvl 25 or so and I can tell you, that the "euro" version was like playing a new game. The delay makes a huge difference.
