I started watching SC2 with Husky and HD (I don't ever watch them now though), and many more pepole who now watch GSL/NASL etc etc did so as well. Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Though I think if HD improved his game knowledge he would be a very good caster, he has the proper voice for it.

That being said, those players are NOT the ones supporting E-sports nor SC2, those players watch the ocassional cast and are still trying to beat a 6 pool in the ladder on their daily 4v4s, they are NOT the ones that pay for a season in the GSL or NASL, nor the ones helping balance the game by playing at the highest level (600+ masters), therefore your comment is completely wrong. Having THE BEST NA player ever, being flamed by gold leagues that watch casters for noobs like Husky, IS NOT a good trade-off. Regardless, IdrA doesn't care, nor anyone that matters, the only players that get offended by IdrA or are in this Anti-BM-IdrA crusade are exactly those same noobs that watch Husky, which leads me to believe you are one of them. I watch HD, Husky and Totalbiscuit's commentaries quite frequently. Sure, they are not GM-level players, but in terms of casting a game, they all do a solid job of catching the majority of the action and timings. Since you decided to come here and flame these people with your fifth post ever on TL, would you mind also sharing your enlightened knowledge in terms of casters who are superior to the aforementioned "noobs?"

Its funny he mentioned his games vs masq and silver. Because I just felt something wrong with it and went back to watch them. Him losing those matches in that 'particular stupid fashion' was all of his own fault, and yet he was the one that insulted those two players in the first place. I don't understand how his thoughts on BMing improves the 'personality' as a character could be achieved logically, and thinking it impacts his reputation in a positive way makes even less sense. In addition, how anyone accepts this argument and can become a fan of him as a result is beyond me.

Professionalism is important to the growth of eSports and swearing and being a jerk will not get them to be millionaires any time soon. I hate to bring sports into this, but what about Football? Both European and American, they have their "BM" people, and it makes it all the more interesting.

A caster for gold leaguers that tries desperately to get viewers and abuse IdrA's replays to try getting some attention. It's sad, but unfortunately both casters don't have future in the SC2 commentating scene, so they have to get as many viewers in their sad channels, and that didn't help IdrA. I really hope to see IdrA coming back to Korea thou, I feel that Korea is his place, here in US I feel that IdrA is playing against inferior players that either get lucky or cheese/abuse the hell out of the game to try beating IdrA, for example scrubs like Cruncher, a player that I personally have destroyed in the ladder numerous times managed to beat IdrA thanks to the sad state of balance. At least in Korea he will be playing players of his level and even if he gets cheesed you know you are not losing to mediocre master level players. I find it funny that you say both casters don't have a future in sc2 as they cast the TSL and IPL. I wouldn't even know who idra is or what sc2 is if it weren't for those casters. You act like their 400K+ subscriber base is some insignificant number of scrubs that don't deserve to even look at a computer with sc2 installed on it. Great attitude for growing esports.

StarCraft 2 is small compared to "football" and if idra is to represent what StarCraft 2 is (yes he is one of the best western players and people will look up to him as a star), then it may give off the wrong message for the growth.

I think think its fair to directly compare mainstream sports with esports. So to bring those mediums into context, I think the attraction of football and hockey, while there are jerks and players that lack sportsmanship, is the drama between the players and the games. The players that are ill mannered will always be disliked and hated by watchers, and eventually brought to elimination from the scene.
