Hi TL.
Whenever I play Coop with my friend I get absolutely huge lag spikes. We failed more than half the chambers repeatedly because of my lag issue. We finished the coop today and even the credits lagged massively and I was on the verge of being disconnected.
It's not my internet. If I close portal 2 I can immediately play SC2 or watch youtube or even play TF2 at < 40 ping. This lag is very annoying. I'm talking about beginning to walk somewhere then being teleported back to where I was then skyrocketing forward and off a platform.
Any ideas guys?
Oh it's not my computer either, at least it shouldn't be.
+ Show Spoiler + Intel Core i7 2600k @ 4Ghz nVidia GTX 570 OCd 4GB Kingston Hyper X
As you can see well and above Portal 2 requirements.

oh in the computer settings you´ve to enable erm... i just know it on german, Eingabe-Geräte... maybe input-hardware, or just input-media or something like this, steam always opens a link window when running portal 2 that guides you to the meant settings, otherwise its a air-circulator with too much dust inside... the 1st point was my problem. i use a macbook systemsettings>input-help"?>mouse - trackpad? google it

Could check to see if it is overheating. I had a similar problem in single player and cooling it down solved the problem. If you are teleporting backward however, it would seem to be some kind of connection issue.

There are a lot of things you can check if you enable developer console which could potentially diagnose your problems. Since portal 2 is made using the source engine all you need to do is look up articles on how to optimize connection for source engine games. Basically there are like 5 or 6 different settings you can play with that I can't remember off the top of my head that can help with spiking. Just search around a little bit and I am sure you will find a million articles that can at least help you find more info about what the issue is.
