I was however wondering when/if you are planning on trying to give a lower quality VOD format. My computer isn't amazing, but it is not a piece of trash. For some reason the 1080p quality makes it completely unwatchable for me. Its the ability to watch the matches, not super high quality, that is important to me. And besides the overpowering desire to support Esports ( :D) the VODs were the main reason I wanted to purchase a pass. Just a question, great job with everything so far! Extremely impressive. They are working on this issue with Justin.tv, their streaming and video hosting provider. Thanks, I've been trying to find something about it, but apparently I hadn't looked hard enough. Glad to see they are working on the issue, hopefully it will get fixed soon. I'm real impressed with the responses from NASL on a lot of issues that have been occurring.

I don't really get all the whining about PayPal, especially from my fellow Europeans. I'm not 100% sure about other countries around, but here (and quite surely also in Poland and Slovakia) you can get an account and a VISA card (gets accepted for every online payment I have ever done and I do a lot of them) for exactly 0 money in about a week. Then you can just send the equivalent of 25 bucks there and pay, if you don't trust them with your money or whatever. The "I don't have a card" is just an excuse for one's laziness and adding more payment options just costs NASL money that can be used somewhere for a real benefit to the league (whereas you can do it totally free).

We want to at least create the illusion that eSports is a mature and valid thing right? They have some genuinely good stuff on their YT account, they should try better next time. It all sounded really forced as well. I 100% agree. Vulgarity like that doesn't have a place in the NASL as far as I am concerned. I will go to bat on this point with the NASL admins etc. I have been watching these guys for a while now and I know that given the chance to do it again, they will be as they should. I really hope that they will be given another chance to do a when cheese fails on the NASL. Maybe having someone to watch/edit videos that are submitted beforehand?

I have been trying to deal with the stream lag since the league went live, and for a while I thought it was just an issue with justin.tv. Now IGN's league is on and I am dumbfounded how much better it is than yours. I am experiencing virtually no lag, and the visual quality is significantly better at all qualities. Since you both use justin.tv, there is something seriously wrong with your stream. Is anyone ever going to address these issues?

If a player plays someone who's better than him, and gets 2-0'd, the opponent gets two wins, and the player gets two losses. If a player can't make his match and is found to have tried, the opponent gets two wins, but the player doesn't get any losses. This means that if a player thinks that he's going to lose his game, he has an incentive to "not be able" to make the game, because a W-O is better for his ranking that a loss. How is NASL preventing the potential for abuse?

1. The lack of background music - the SC2 background music, in particular - means that there's a lot of dead time and detracts from the atmosphere of the event. Was this a conscious design choice? 2. I'm not sure what kind of microphones the commentators at the studio are using, but it sounds like they're of pretty low quality. I can understand if this is a decision made on budget grounds, but it detracts from the professionalism of the broadcast when it sounds like you're talking into a typical laptop microphone. 3. The audio levels are pretty significantly off. Whoever is in charge of production for your videos needs to get his act together; voices are way too loud relative to game audio, and in particular at times I feel like Gretorp's microphone is significantly quieter than the other casters. Right now, for example, the guest caster is way louder than Gretorp and just drowns the game audio and Gretorp out every time he talks. It may feel like these are nitpicks, and to some extent they are, but when added together they detract pretty significantly from how professional the broadcast looks and sounds. They're little things, but that makes them easy to fix, too. I appreciate all that you're trying to do for the SC2 professional gaming community, and I hope you guys succeed, but I feel like interest in the NASL is flagging (I know mine is, despite my best attempts) and I just wanted to leave some input that could help you improve the quality and appeal of your production. As a side-note, I know this probably isn't under your control, but the Olive Garden advertisement is absolutely horrendous. It's incredibly startling to mute the stream, go off to do something else for a little bit, and then a few minutes later have an advertisement at full-blast come over your speakers. If you've got any sway in this area I'd ask you to please exclude these kinds of advertisements from your stream, or at the very least have the mute apply to the advertisement as well.

I feel like the first 2 days it wasn't this bad (the audio quality was still noticably subpar though), but now it seems kind of just awful--like the casters are talking into laptop mics over Skype. The levels are off too, and the lack of SC2 music makes the audio feel a little empty, but the main problem is that there's more white-noise and static than there is actual voice. The audio just doesn't seem professional. If the audio was crisp I'd have almost no qualms with NASL and I'd watch it every evening. Is it the mics or the post-production that is making the audio poor? It's very off-putting. Even though the video quality looks good, there are great games being played, I love Khaldor, and Gretorp + Inc are improving quickly as casters, I just can't watch NASL right now because of how cheap and irritating the audio quality is. Are there any ways to fix this soon? I think a lot of people would be happy.

It seems I'm not the only one with these concerns, which is a little reassuring since now I know I'm not just being overly picky.
