- Added some ideological "why the frick would we do this" sort of information. - You can see the latest change (usually) marked with new. Using mostly spoiler tags to keep photos/long messages under control for people.

Hope some people decide to come visit the Korean servers. There are English-speaking Koreans believe it or not and its actually sort of a fad to speak nothing but English because it annoys those who don't know it. I'd still recommend learning to title all your games with the Korean map names: IE "토혼" instead of "FS" in your title will get people to join. Not all of us are anti-foreigner. I also caution people here because I know there's a lot of people looking for fun and community. If you want those things, stick to iCCup. Brainclan isn't for you. Brainclan is a place where the players take their skills and games pretty seriously. Legitimately playing in your rank (unless you're on the way up permanently), honest practice of skills, and good etiquette will get you far there. Just to give you an idea, Brainclan has its own official sponsored e-Sports Association title "BeSPA" that runs the Brainclan Proleague (their version of a Clan War sort of), and Brainclan Starleague (the individual league). Training there is also traditionally done "King of the Hill" style. If you win, you keep playing every challenger until you lose. Its grueling training, but if you want to know why Korean hours on iCCup are so much more difficult than the other timeslots, its because they do things like this every day in mass. Go ahead and mass KOTH every day with Koreans. I bet you move up a rank or 2 in a couple months or less. Best luck and happy gaming to all.

You need to change the language for non-unicode programs to korean in "Region and Language" in "Control Panel" in win7/vista. Dunno about mac/linux though. I also heard you could download some other program.

- Added a coming soon section for things I want to add soonish - Moved and refactored a lot of the thread to make it more straight-forward sCCrooked if you could get some information on how to easily read/write Korean characters [even if it's just copy-paste] for making maps, I'd appreciate it. It'd be excellent if people could do this without having to install anything too heavy or change their regional settings, but this may not be possible. You PMd me something about what to look for with /lgame, but I don't even have a Korean language pack installed! ^_^ On February 25 2011 12:47 Nazza wrote: Show nested quote + On February 25 2011 12:41 icemac wrote: This is pretty intense. I will hopefully find a simpler solution for people before they come back online.

Any info would be appreciated. Fish I'm told has increased its ladder requirement. Like Brainclan with the 10 hour rule, its to limit smurfs and multiple-accounts. Of course if you're dedicated, multiple accounts is perfectly fine. They just make it a serious hassle so you won't do it unless you're a serious player. To my knowledge, it used to be 10 regular games to play ladder. I have been since informed through Korean friends that the amount has been increased to 30 games in order to contend with the massive amounts of traffic that Brainclan being down has caused. Fish and Brain have had a long standing rivalry and have had multiple Server-Wars where the whole servers play each other in massive tournaments. After you play the 30, you should be able to join the ladder channels and play normally through their ranks. I did not play on Fish extensively though due to the registry files writing over my iCCup and Brainclan (so annoying to replace) so I'm sorry I can't give more personal experience. 1a2a3apro wrote: You PMd me something about what to look for with /lgame, but I don't even have a Korean language pack installed! ^_^ I apologize I should've made sure you could see the Korean. I will repost here, as I provide the exact text to look for (in case you don't read/speak Korean). At the least, with them here you can just match up the characters and see which one is being said to you: There's a way to check if this process is finished or not. You type in the command /lgame. If it says: "레더게임 가능 합니다" (You can play ladder games), well duh it means you can play... well ladder games! If it says "레더 게임 불가능합니다", (You can't play ladder games) it means the 10 hours isn't complete yet and you must wait longer. I still just recommend setting the thing up before you go to bed at night. So much easier. If you need Korean language packs installed so you can see Korean and not a bunch of random symbols (Euro, Zeros with slashes through them, question marks, boxes, etc), these links will provide you with the step-by-step instructions as well as pictures: -Windows Vista Language Help -Windows 7 Language Help -Windows XP Language Help If you have an older OS or a Macintosh, I'm sorry but I don't have experience installing foreign languages on those systems.

- added information about Korean language packs - added pictures for mini-launcher interface - added links to download Korean versions of maps Thanks Crooked. Would you say having a language pack for Korean is essential, nice to have, not really necessary? And for what, hosting, joining, etc? It seems like quite a bit of a hassle if it's not really needed. I am whoring information about Fish/Brain etiquette from you because you seem to be the resident TeamLiquid Korean replying here XD.
