Hey TL dudes, just got a couple of quick questions on WOW. I used to play a bit, I own the CD's of the original and Burning Crusade right? Now I want to upgrade all the way to Cataclysm via online purchase.
Last night I installed the vanilla original, and when I put in the Burning Crusade it just started to download a huge client instead of installing from the CD. Oh, and it told me to move the original to a new public folder?? What's all this about? I know that the new add ons will take some time to download, am I saving any time with CD installs? What's the deal?
Thanks

The complete WoW (all expansions + patches) is like 40 GB so you're gonna have to give it awhile no matter what method you use.

i'm sure someone will eventually help you out but this is a SC forum you'd probably get faster help at mmo-champion.com

if you got good internet, do it via the net, if you dont, keep going with the CDs
and to above poster: no, TL isnt ONLY about starcraft, plenty people come here without even setting their eyes on the SC sections.

The best way to reinstall is to download the streaming client and install from that. The streaming client omits any old Azeroth data that was replaced in Cataclysm so the total install will be less than installing through the CDs (I think it's somewhere between 15-20 GB as opposed to 35+ from CDs/DVDs). Go to your battle.net account and download WoW through there and that'll give you the streaming client.

Very good, I think I see what's going on now, thanks all
