MKP practised alot - like he said he would - on strategies that would counter his style's counter. Let me rephrase that. MKP is known for going heavy on his MMM mobile army in almost every TvT matchup. And he's known for early aggression.
MVP didn't prepare "anything" except the first match - I believe. In that regard MKP relied on MVP to go for a more defensive style - sort of like what Clide did in the groupplay -> Stay at your base with bunkers and let MKP be the on to engange first. And then counterattack him. But instead he basicly followed MKP's "own" builds.
The only time MKP ever really stayed true to his style was on Blister, but by then he was outplayed both mentally and gamewise.
I'm sure going into this matchup MKP was alot more confident in his plan, being the fact that their winratio is basicly 50/50 on the ladderr (according to MKP himself). If he had gone for a more aggressive style - like he did against hopetorture - he could have had a better outcome. This is not to take any glory away from MVP - by all means. The guy is actually the 4th race of SC2 - one whom doesn't have any weaknesses for now. I mean, he predicted every basetradescenario. At one point I was like "wtf" when MKP entered his base (my memory fails on which map) and MVP had an even bigger army there waiting for him, while attacking MKPs base at the same time!
Btw: I'm actually shocked that Nick/Dan didn't notice MKP completly changing up his style until the 4th game - where he actually went for 1rax expo.. lol

although bw skills do translate to sc2, the two games may still emphasize different skills. one can argue that build analysis/anticipation and timing is more important for sc2 at this current phase of the game than sheer mechanics or reflex. i think the smarter/sharper players from bw would do better in sc2.
MVP actually comes from the generation of BWpros with insane mechanical ability minimum 400apm and all that jazz.
Thanks for the translation! I wasn't able to catch the games, but it doesn't seem like I missed all that much.. Though we really need someone who isn't so polite to win and get an interview like this.
Another disappointing finals. The matchup was more exciting than last time atleast, with MKP and MVP, but I hoped for some epic back and forth games. I hope for GSL 5 to have some more excitement to it
Both Code S and Code A finals were won by a Terran. What do you think about that? ▲ I heard that next season, there'll be new maps. I believe the current situation will change when maps change. I do not personally believe that Terran is much stronger than other races.
I think that MVP is right, its not necessarily Terran that is OP, but just the maps. I really hope that the new maps next season will help against the Terran dominance. Watching Tv[insert other race here] got a little boring after a while.

you're right, the maps are pretty boring now because they've been figured out completely (it's already 6 months past the first time SC 2 hit the retails). Even in the OSL/MSL they have different maps so that there would be no type of dominance. well, except for Flash that is ^_^

That awesome trophy was the model of the assembled artifact from the campaign.
I really kinda wonder why some people did not enjoy these finals. Sure a bit short and not everybody enjoys TvT, but the skill level demonstrated by MVP was out of this world. Literally made my jaw drop on multiple occasions.
Well, if you didnt have anything better to do, it was okey. If you watched the OSL finals after, its like night and day in comparison, like a dream you remember for days after experiencing it.
I love sc2, and in a few years Im sure it will be fun to watch. That is usually not the case right now with the finals we are having. But watching whitera last night was very fun, so it's not the games fault entirely.
MKP choked, when his new strategy was failing in game one you could see his inexperience with using the new composition of units, after that game it was blatant that his nerves had taken over.

Those two are one of the smartest ones in bw + mechanically superior players so they would actually do fine in the new game
I srsly didnt think MVP was gunna 4-0 MKP but MVP was the much stronger player on this day. Congrats MVP too bad you didnt win last season cuz you would have gotten so much more money >< but hey, as long as you win a few more GSLs you can gain some more money
I dunno why so many of you are saying it was a disappointing finals, unless it's only because of how 1-sided it was, but that was 100% MvP's merit, he played flawlessly.

Morph all your zerglings into banelings in your opponent base.
