I lol'd at the Recommended Games section before the matches... hahahahaha.
And go Dinotoss!!!
|
i opened the recommended games. and i agree, interesting group. i hope stork makes it out of it. with flash gone, the chances are high for an interesting finals if not too many other top players drop out. i just pray we get saved from some stupid shit like a modesty vs hogil finals or a jd vs hydra finals. (jd vs yarnc 30 min bo5 finals anyone?)

I hope Stork unleashes his anger in this group, Stork 2-0 PLEASE!

LOL @edited banner Stork 2-0 Light 2-1

All I know is... I want Light dead.
RorO and Stork/Shy would be nice

Why not just use the original msl banner. It was barely humorous the first time.

Predictions
This is an awful group for me to watch. It features three of my favorite players (Supreme Commander, Invisible Terran, and AverageZerg) - and a rookie, and you have to root for rookies, right? So here goes nothing.
Light <Benzene> Stork sHy <Circuit Breaker> RorO
Barring cheese, Stork ought to beat Light. Light is pretty good, but this is Stork's best matchup against Light's worst. RorO's ZvP is so poor most of the time I think I call sHy to win the match even with the map balance favoring Zerg.*
That gives us:
Winners: Stork <Dante's Peak> sHy
Stork should of course win any PvP against a rookie Protoss. I'll mention that it is a PvP so anything can happen - but after mentioning that I'll still take Stork to win with the 2-0 and advance.
Losers: Light <Dante's Peak> RorO
This features both players in their best matchup, so it should be the game of the night. I'll be perfectly happy to see either player get out of the group, but I think Light is the better player overall, so he should win.
Fifth Set: sHy <Triathlon> Light
sHy has managed to lose not just a game, but an actual best of three to SaiR. Light's TvP, while his worst matchup, is still over 50%. If Light can't win this, he doesn't deserve to live play in the MSL - which he wouldn't.
Stork (1) and Light (2) advance.
* This is where I'm least confident. I think the same players would advance in the end, though: Stork > Light sHy < RorO Stork > RorO** Light > sHy Light > RorO
** If it gets here and Stork forgets how to play PvZ for a game, RorO might go through 2-0, leaving: Light > sHy, and a final rematch of set one, Stork vs Light - at which point all bets are off. I don't predict this, I'm just mentioning it.
For the record, I liquibet Stork and Light, so I'm standing on my predictions! Let's gooooo!

I agree with Musoeun's (*) predictions completely.

Of course I open the recommended games before the match starts. I also open the results, in case anyone wants to know.
When there is nothing I want spoiled, spoiler boxes are like magnets for my mouse pointer D:

Don't care about RorO :>

This is a pretty strong group. Stork is looking really good lately, Light is really good at two matchups and Roro is a pretty good zerg. sHy is the weakest player in the group by a lot.
My Predictions
Stork vs Light Lets not kid ourselves, this match is the best PvTer of all time vs a terran with mediocre TvP. Stork is the huge favorite in this game
sHy vs RorO Roro is a pretty high caliber player (hes the #4 zerg ELO after JD, Shine and Hydra if we don't count Effort since he is retired) and sHy is completely unproven. He beat 815 in a Bo3 during a prelim and beat Hyuk, so he does have a slight hope this match. Roro's ZvP isn't that great (he is 3-3 this season, though two of his losses come from Bisu and the other is from Kal) but I still think is the favorite.
Winner's Match Stork vs RorO Stork is the favorite, his PvZ is a lot stronger than Roro's ZvP. Roro still has a decent chance this game though.
Loser's match Light vs sHy As said above sHy lost to sair 2-0 in the OSL prelims. Even though Light's TvP is really bad he should win this.
Final game Light vs RorO This is a tough match to predict. Light and Roro are 3-2 in head to head (Light the greater number of wins) and Roro won their last match this season of PL. I give the edge to Light because his TvZ is fucking good, but Roro's ZvT is pretty good as well (66.67% win rate since the start of the season). This should probably be the best game in the group

Cautiously hoping Stork will advance, given the way MSL has gone so far...
Hopfully sHy steps up his game today and proves he can play, OZ needs another reliable player in PL (they haven't played him yet at all, which is puzzling given that they've played the van driver and Bee).
Light unpredictable as always, though a favourite to advance as well I guess.
Will be interesting.
