It's that time of year again folks. "Fuck finals." This is my first semester in college, and it's a bit terrifying to see people passed out at desks in the library with their notes spread out everywhere and huge bags under their eyes lol. Makes me wonder how long they've been there...should the system of education even be aimed towards this though? Like, it seems all college is, is balls to the wall studying over a notebook and laptop to get a piece of paper that says you have a degree. Anyways, that's highly off topic :x Best of luck to all the engineering and science majors (thankfully I am not one ), hang in there! Edit: hopefully I don't get banned, but this seems relevant for students T_T

But yeah, I've spent the last 5 days studying for at least 8 hours. I have a diff eq final in 1 hour and 6 minutes and an Organic Final on Saturday. T_______T However, I did pull off a vortex nuke with my friend in 2v2 so that motivates me to kick some ass! I also saw some guy sleeping on the floor at the library today. D:

It's actually not too bad as a Freshman. Does it get harder? (twss)

it's actually not that bad, I'm glad that I've seen how one should really prepare for stuff- I've never really done this before. Hopefully I can not suck next semester :/

Well Diff Eq final threw a thermal rod problem at us. I'm pretty sure 98% of us got it wrong. T______T ...stupid Fourier Series. 1 more final to go...

monday: upper div anatomy course. had fun memorizing like 200 muscles and their origins, insertions, innervations, and movements tuesday: cell biology. exam is worth 50% of my class grade. here's a short excerpt from the notes: 7. At the G1 to S transition, Cdc25A phosphatase removes inhibitory phosphates from CDK2 and then CDK1. Before DNA replication can begin, p21CIP, p27KIP1, p57KIP2 must all three be degraded (all three inhibit CDK2-cyclinA; p21CIP binds and inhibits all mammalian CDK-cyclins). For instance, SCF complex (a special ubiquitin ligase) targets p27KIP1, after it is phosphorylated. CIPs are CDK inhibitory proteins. CKIs are cyclin kinase inhibitors and include p16INK4 and p21CIP. p16INK4 ( a tumor suppressor) inhibits CDK4. P53 protein, which binds the double stranded DNA sequence 5’GGGCAAGTCT3,’ turns on transcription of p21CIP. MDM2 protein (a ubiquitin ligase) binds and inhibits p53 protein. P14ARF binds and inhibits MDM2 protein. . Later, during mitosis, cyclins A and B are ubiquitinated (and thus destroyed) by APC at late anaphase. wednesday: biochemistry and physics e&m worst 3 days of my life. i spent like the 2 previous weeks studying 12+ hours daily in the library and still didn't get good grades on the exams. done with school for now though! hopefully going to be heading back fall 2011!
