Without decent maps, trying to balance the game is futile. Actually, the game can be balanced around any type of map Blizzard chooses. For the sake of Starcraft 2 as a spectator esport, you're wrong, even though you're in theory, correct. But for now I'm simply going to settle with pointing out that some of Blizzard's maps aren't even perfectly symmetrical so they're even imbalanced in mirror matches. Blizzard has also stated that the maps are what they are because they want the ladder maps to be varied yet simple enough for beginners and that tournaments should create their own maps optimized for tournament play.

wow why is there no games recommended for Nestea vs Rain? Nestea getting taking down by Terran? Did T cheese all his wins or something?

Pretty much yes. Different variations of two barracks marine + SCV all-ins every time.

Oh wow, no wonder none of them were recommended, I just took a wild stab because I know the TL community doesn't like cheeses, haha. I just saw a vod and Omg, the look on Nestea's face during game 4 was like "Are you serious, this guy going to cheese me again?!" Blah, I'm usually a terran but I have empathy for Nestea in this round.

Hope MarineKing takes it.

This game has some serious issues. Forget balance and all that, the game design itself simply promotes these boring 1 base risk plays that a) either catch the other player and roll him or b) fail miserably and then end up getting rolled. The game design doesn't allow for solid back and forth games you see in Brood War. No games in SC2 are epic, even if they are longer than 20 minutes.

Ya I'm noticing that myself. But I think maps need to get a lot bigger.

I guess the translation could leave such impression. The reality is quite the opposite, though. Rain has made similar excuses since the beginning of the season, especially after bunker-rushing NexGenius out and the Koreans did not buy this time and exploded. Rain had to apologize to the viewers and Nestea's fans for "what he did" after the series. I don't know if that was necessary but it certainly doesn't seem "baller" to me.
The response to the Nestea v. Rain series there seemed much harsher there than here in TL. The Korean commentators couldn't find words to sugar-coat his plays during the broadcasting (trying to avoid the C-word) and the viewers (especially those who made a trip to watch the series in person) got so mad and they slammed the team TSL page that the TSL coach (manager?) also made an apology and even the team IM (which Nestea belongs to) manager had to help out to put out the fire.
I am not sure how this will affect the remaining games of the season, lol.

EA SPORTS - it's in the game

WoW. I didn't like the games and all. But people are taking it too far judging by your description. It's a computer game damn it. My guess is 90% of the "angry mob" are Nestea fanboys.

Definitely possible but take into consideration that this Computer game is a very popular sport in SKorea like probably Futbol in most countries. Korean spectators expect more because they are use to high quality plays in SC1, so I wouldn't say the only people raging are Nestea fans. A good comparison would probably be a Main Event Boxing event back when it was extremely popular and the result ended in a decision/ really shitty match. It's part of the sport, it happens but probably more than just fanboys are enraged.

I just remembered something about FD. He actually faced OgsInca in GSL S1 round of 8 and all-ined all 3 of those games. It seems that when ever FD faces a decent Protoss he plays gimmicky.
I wonder what the reason is for that, given that he has Tester as practice partner you'd think he would rather challenge other protoss to a macro game.

I find it funny when predictions are completely shattered I was quite surprised with the results though, might this be the first GSL in which a zerg doesn't win? I'm personally rooting for Jinro!
