Edit: Should say, I'm a zerg fan at heart. My liquibet wants Terran tomorrow morning, but my heart is pissed at liquibet right now. Lol^^

Foxer to me resembles why nobody respects Terran players in sc2. all these cool innovative strategies and tactics that are or were available to terrans are second rate to basic MMM. Try to use Marines in every single game and see how that works out for you. Do you know why other Terrans don't use solely marines like Foxer? Because they can't. If it worked, sure as hell they would do the same. What do you think their priority is when participating in such tournament? Pleasing the fans? Trying out new stuffs? Making the game look interesting? Nope, it's the 100 million won grand prize. The only reason why Foxer's bio works so well is because his micro is freaking sick. In that very aspect I would say he's absolutely better than most of the players out there.

This isn't a Bronze Noob getting easy wins out of a one dimensional play. I can understand it when ppl want to watch high level macro games with a variety of units and probably 2nd tier and 3rd tier units. But this only happens when 2 player's early game skill are level which moves them both on to the mid game or late game. Foxer is demonstrating a strong early game which so far not even the strongest players of the game have come up with an idea to counter or nullify effectively. And even once they do, I don't think Foxer is a total noob as to be clueless of what other gameplan to devise. The boy has shown great diversity but has to always keep his opponents on their toes with this threat of early Marine Aggression. His Marine Aggression is definitely not all-in since he practically expands during that aggression. To stack him up and label him in the same category as the truly cheesy, one dimensional and gimmicky Terran players is pretty disrespectful and insulting to him. And again, he isn't playing for our entertainment so why should he display fancy midgame strategies when so far no opponent has been able to figure out how to stop his early aggression. It's surprising that some people are hellbent on diversified Macro unit play that they can't appreciate the insane Marine micro and timing precision this player has displayed.he practically uses nothing but MMM rally pressure every game... only reason it's entertaining is because alot of things die wether it's his or the other players but i much prefer watching players like NaDa, SlayerSBoxeR, Jinro and Terran TLO who actually use something else besides barracks pressure. Actually, while Protoss is most popular overall, at a high level (even just high diamond but especially in the pros or top 200 lists) there are more Terran. As for Foxer's play what makes it amazing is the control of his marines. Marines are not normally that good but when you have such good control that they essentially move and shoot like phoenixes and perfect timing and position they are great. The fact is if he misses a timing or gets hit by a solid round of banelings or tanks, it's over. Note that we may end up seeing his control of other units as well if an opponent actually resists his early pushes.

Even if hellions would only be hitting one at a time, they to avoiding that is not letting the marines get into a concave and attacking them when they are grouped up. an effective hellion hits 2-3 marines especially with blue flames it would be very effective. Since Hellions are all minerals he could just have some siege tanks or banshees to be the support or any other gas heavy unit. uh. think about your strategy man. remember we are talking about EARLY marine aggression. Okay you can have one factory up, as seen in game 1 of foxer v hopetorture. he got one hellion out. now you're saying get banshees//tanks with the extra gas.. well with what factory? or starport? if you still want hellions that mean you can't have a tank producing at the same time. with a bunker it can hold off the marines for a little while longer but you're still hard pressed to defend well micro'd marines.

I so want to be a Foxer fan but he has to change his id first. I'm sure whoever wins the semifinal in a few hours will be trying to find a counter to his marine play.

I don't understand how balance talk even comes into this. He is taking litterally the most basic building block of a terran army and making effective on its own through apm. I like others like macro games with interesting units and wierd tactics, but Foxer Kyrix was one of the greatest things i've ever seen. Edit: What entertains me is the possibility that the timer broke the game. The timer is probably helping a ton with Foxer's ridiculous knowledge of timings. (not to say that isn't skilled).
