I don't think XeqtR was that bad and his solo casts won't be as bad as people think. He casted CS for a while and he didn't have the same issues with volume or "disappearing" then, so I don't expect those to be an issue in the future. Even though CS and SC are completely different, he was one of the top 3 smartest players in the entire world and when combined with dedication, I have to imagine he'll be pretty damn knowledgeable about SC2 as well.

It's probably the closest we've come to a "normal" casting duo with a play-by-play guy and a color commentator and they both filled their roles extremely well. For not knowing the game, Lee covered it very well and still asked IdrA great questions. I don't think XeqtR was that bad and his solo casts won't be as bad as people think. I agree with you on IdrA and Jason, they had their cooperation nailed down. I think IdrA deserves some credit for also not correcting Jason Lee when he was getting abit ahead of himself, he just kept the ball rolling - Props for both Jason and IdrA there. I didn't think XeqtR did that well though. When he was on screen, he didn't look at his co-host and he didn't look into the camera, his eyes kept wandering off from side to side, while he was making weird gestures with his hands that were distracting. Also, and more importantly, he didn't really grab those openings that Jason openly offered him during the game to add some insight. Neither (IdrA and XeqtR) are doing this for a living though, so I was still quite satisfied with the level of commentary though

Imho, they seemed more professional than tastosis. Although I like tastosis more for the comic relief.

At first I kinda expected Lee to be a bit of a loud obnoxious noob, but he didn't overstep his knowledge boundaries and asked enough questions and complemented Idra's strategic commentary quite well. Idra is actually pretty well-spoken. He just doesn't have the added charisma and experience that makes Artosis so awesome. GJ, hope to see more Idra commentary in the future

I said this on the gom forums, but I think a casting team of IdrA/Tasteless/Artosis would be ideal. Tasteless likes to commentate the action/host, IdrA is an unequaled expert, and Artosis is somewhere in the middle. The koreans get 3 commentators, so should we!

I'm curious how he'll do, I just don't think it'll be as bad as most people expect.

I totally agree - all in all, it was very enjoyable and something 'different' than what we have been used to so far. Obviosly, he won't be casting and playing in the tournament at the same time. Both Artosis and Tasteless signed up for both GSL 1 and 2, Artosis made it to the round of 64 in GSL1. They bring in another caster if they have a game to play.
