I'm looking for some people to do the 2v2 and 3v3 co-op achievements, both the 15 game win streaks and the "win with all possible race combinations" achievements.
I would also be interested in farming more wins afterwards in 2v2 for the total wins achievements, depending on how quickly the games are going.
I hope it's OK to post this here... I saw a similar post replied to with "there's an achievement thread for stuff like this" but I wasn't able to find one, at least not one posted in within the past few weeks.

I've been meaning to do this one myself after finishing all of the Custom Game (vs AI) achs. I def know my cannon/bunker rushes now
Phenrei.684, most likely some time tomorrow (sleeping after daily today)

I'd be up for this... except didn't they patch insane AI to make it much harder to cheese? I know there are still ways to win easily against insane AI (forcing them to juggle their army in the middle of the map with zergling run-bys, reaper harass, and any air harass) but is there any way to win quickly like before?
Cannon rushing still works... but you have to start much further away from their base now.

Yeah the insane AI is harder now and will worker rush from much farther away without even seeing you... might have to do some forum searching and experimentation to see the best way to do this, 3v3 15-win streak could be tough especially on team maps.
Good to see there are still people who haven't done these yet, I'll add you in game... currently searching other forums to see if anyone's worked out the ideal strategies. Looks like cannon rushing is still the way, but 3 insane AIs can mass up a LOT of stuff and break out if they have room to work with.

I actually found it still really easy, Brian, because of the new "pull all the workers to chase the stuff" AI decision. What I'd do is build a bunker/cannon below the ramp, then build one above and let the dps from the one below start killing workers. Doubly excellent was the fact that if I cancelled the building above, oftentimes the AI would go down the ramp and get effectively walled out of their own base by the damage threat, bringing their income to 0 until they make more workers and catch up. Will be harder with random AI races, but definitely still doable with this strat.

I haven't found a reliable way to distract their workers like that. In 1v1, a few times I got the AI to send all his probes outside of his base after my cannons, then they would back off and wiggle around and never re-enter the base. Most of the time, it would keep all the workers safe and just send zealots.
Sounds like maybe you were doing it on a map where you can cannon their mineral line from outside of the base? Getting maps like that would definitely be helpful.
We can always choose the AI races so that won't be an issue.
Oh yeah, I forgot to post my ID, that would help, wouldn't it? It's Chocobo 592

I've found it really difficult to get the 3v3 insane AI achievement since there's 1 map (can't remember name) that I've played with like 10 random 3v3 teams which we've never won on. The insane map hacks and always finds the rush no matter where u build it on their side of the map since there's no ledge to start it below.

I have my 2v2 15 game streak for insane already, but wouldn't mind teaming up with others for the 3v3 insane coop achievement.

Personally I'm very interested in joining, but I'm struggling with finding reliable strategies that work with insane AI post patch (and even moreso in finding strats that work with all 3 races, as I'd like to knock down all achievements as efficiently as possible).
What's your approach?

which region?
i'm interessted in a europe partner
i already have done 73 insane coop games including the 15streak.
but i really would like to go for some more

I'm interested in this as well. Feel free to add me, Kambing.239 and hit me up for games when I'm online.
On that note, I haven't figured out a reliable 3v3 strat that'll guarantee 15 wins post-patch. With the rax nerf, it seems that cannon rushing is probably the most reliable approach. However, on the shared base maps like Arakan Citadel and Typhon, I haven't been able to reliable shut down the 3rd AI's economy, so they end up running over the cannon line and then our base. On Typhon, we were able to wing it by teching after the fact since there's only one lane between the bases. But on Arakan, I haven't figured out a positioning of the initial cannons that can reach a base safely in time.
I suppose that 7 pooling is the most likely strat to work consistently in the end since it isn't affected by the cannon nerf, but random protoss opponents really put that in jeopardy.

Oh wait a second; this just clicked for me. You can get credit for the achievement by doing a custom game with "Co-op VS AI" as the category? I could've sworn I joined custom AI games and didn't get credit, but that setting might have been on just "custom game"...
EDIT: just tried it with a friend --- custom game, Co-op VS AI, insane difficulty, chose AI races to be protoss/protoss --- and it didn't count towards either our insane 2v2 or coop race achievements. User error on my end, or what?

I finally got my 3v3 winstreak done just a couple of days ago, all of us using 3 protoss. On most maps of course you can cannon rush. The exceptions:
Biolab - Two people cannon rush, third goes straight to voidrays. Pretty safe since the third computer will spend his time early on trying to help fend off the cannons in his teammates' bases.
Typhon - A little tougher, but not bad. All three players start with one cannon below the ramp, then go crazy with massing cannons in the enemy's shared main. Slowly push towards their bases and finish them off. This sometimes fails (marauders can stop your progress pretty well), have someone begin working towards voidrays just in case the cannons get stopped.
Arakan - A huge pain to deal with, the AI has maphack for virtually half of the entire map. Even building on the elevated areas is not allowed, workers will rush it no matter what. Our solution, found by complete accident, is to keep putting up pylons in faraway places, get worker rushed, and keep the AI from mining as much as possible. If they catch a pylon, cancel it and throw up another one somewhere else, keep them running constantly. Gas stealing is also very effective, workers aggro hard to that.
During this time, build a pylon and forge at home. Usually you'll be able to sneak a finished pylon in, get a cannon started, and then cannon push from there. (we always got at least 1 kill if not more) If yours fails, you have a worker advantage and econ advantage over the AI if you kept making probes... quickly rush up to voidrays before the AI gets an army and sends it to your base.
An alternative strategy is to use terran and go mass reapers... when you have a critical mass of reapers, you can just hit and run their base all day. Their army will get paralyzed, constantly trying to leave but then having to go home to defend vs reapers. Works best with at least 1 protoss teammate to get a sure kill with cannons, that way you only have 1 or 2 bases that need to be reaped down slowly.
For those still looking for these achievements (or the race combo ones), feel free to contact me on bnet (Chocobo 592)... there's a good chance I'll be up for some co op games to increase my total.

Damn, you gave me a glimmer of hope there. Oh well, guess we have to do it the hard way then. 2 cannon/1 air protoss was what we ended up doing for our wins when we tried it out. But it didn't feel at all consistent, especially on Arakan. I guess I'll need to play around with pylon baiting to see how it works out

When I did my 1v1 Insane AI achievements, I actually did it exclusively with random vs Protoss. When I rolled Zerg, the key was exploiting the AI aggression with a gas steal. Continually rebuild an Extractor to cripple the Protoss economy (they'll consistently put exactly 6 workers to assault your Extractor), and your first Zerglings may arrive before the first Zealot even comes out. Just make sure that until you get sufficient numbers you do what you can to avoid the probes from retaliating--you want their focus to be on the Extractor and not the Zerglings destroying the Gateway (if the Gateway stays running, the chances of success get exponentially more difficult). Strategy would need adjustment for the larger 2v2 & 3v3 maps, and greater control when handling AI reinforcement scenarios, but it's worth a shot.

as R v P, what do you do if youre terran?
and has anyone done the 4v4 Kin vs Insane AI and 4v4 vs Insane AI Kin? they dont quite cooperate with my rushes
