Amateur Kim Song Woon: "I dream of becoming a Progamer"
- Can you introduce yourself?
▲ Hello! I'm the 2010 amateur representative Kim Song Woon. I'm a Zerg user, and I've only played Starcraft for a year and a half. I hope to become a progamer currently.
- You managed to take a game against Effort
▲ I wanted to damage him a little with the first Zerglings and try to get ahead on the [next Zerglings], but I think I got really lucky. After I won, I thought "Did I really just win?" and my mind went completely dull.
- You looked extremely comfortable through the Cameras.
▲ I thought I would be extremely nervous, but perhaps because there weren't many people in the audience, I wasn't that nervous. I couldn't believe that I had won, and because it was just amazing that I was sitting in the playing seats, I couldn't help myself but keep laughing. It was a really fun experience.
- After you took the first set, you were losing one-sidedly on the second and third sets.
▲ After I won the first game, Effort, in the second set, didn't use a build I thought he would use and played offensively. So the game went to him easily, and in the 3rd set, it was a chaotic bloodbath where I felt the difference between a progamer and an amateur.
- We heard that you were really happy after hearing that you would be playing against Effort.
▲ Out of the four people I could be playing, he was my favorite, and I was happy that I would be playing against someone who had won a Starleague.
- Is there any players you like, or players you would want to be like?
▲ I like all the Zerg players, but I like Jaedong, Effort, and Zero the most. As I [T/N: or "they"] play the game, I feel that they are really amazing and think they are very cool.
- Is there a reason you want to be a progamer?
▲ When I went to school, I didn't play Starcraft and enjoyed playing Fifa or Sudden Attack instead. Even though I didn't know much about Starcraft, I always watched the game. As I kept going to school, I thought that I wanted to play games at that kind of stage, and started really playing Starcraft. I played with all the races, but strangely, I was attracted to Zerg.
- Do you think you have talent?
▲ When I first started, I thought I was getting better faster than other kids, but there were times I was disappointed because I kept failing Courage. But because I keep trying, I was able to get lucky like today.
- We heard that you got an offer to take a test from a certain Progame team.
▲ It's an extremely good thing from a perspective from an Amateur. I hope I do well and conclude it well.
- Is there anything you want to say?
▲ I was extremely happy that I somehow got an opportunity to come out in a broadcast. I want to keep feeling things like this in the future and I will do my best to become a cool Progamer.
