I don't have the beta, so this could be just pure rubbish, but I thought about SC2 a lot and this all-in-strategy seems quite good on paper:
You could use overlords, queens and spine crawlers in an micro-intensive and aggressive "WC3-style" tower push. You build some spine crawlers in your base, wait until your queens have some mana and then move your queens, overlords and uprooted spine crawlers to the enemy base. (which is, of course very slow, so your enemy better be close position)
There you puke creep, so you can mount the crawlers and move your queens faster (e.g. they don't die immedeately). Of course it's also easier to micro your "normal" roach/hydra/whatever army to protect your crawlers and queens.
The queens, of course are substantial to keep your army/crawlers/overlords alive with their healing ability (and maybe also creep tumor)
I would love to see this executed be a veteran WC3 player who is already familiar with these kind of tower pushes, but of course this could also be just a "non-strategy" as I have no actual SC2 experience.

By the time you can execute this strategy the enemy will most likely have range units and more units if you spend so mutch money on spinecrawlers.
So against a good player you will most likely not have a chance.
maby if you face a protoss you can make this strategy on a cliff on a neutral expansion and put some spinecrawlers down and maby you can make a good stand that way, but otherwise i dont think spine crawler push will be so efficient middle game.

can spinecrawlers and queens fit in a nydus? If so, the offensive application of spinecrawlers is self evident.....
|
No i dont think you can take spinecrawler into a nydus but you can move drones into a overloard put creep on a cliff and build spinecrawlers... that was my point.

I haven't faced this. Nydus and Overseer (for creep puking) both require Lair, and by the time Zerg has Lair, other races should have air. Terran will Reaper or Medivac your main, pop a bunker at their choke, and laugh, while Protoss will attack-move Void Rays and laugh.
Of course, you'll have to be more specific about the timings you're thinking about if you want someone to try this. Properly timed, offensive or containing Spine Crawlers may very well be quite strong.
Keep in mind that beginning any contain requires you to seize map control, and contain-circumventing threat hurts your map control. Also, Queens away from home are inefficient macro-wise (no larva injection), unless you plan to proxy Hatchery.

yes. I hope I'll get a beta opt in some time. Then I'll definitly look at those timings and see if it works.

Actually, overlords are the ones that get the generate creep, and when you upgrade them to overseers they lose that ability. But they don't get it until lair tech for some reason. The tooltips are not correct in game.

Overlords can't drop creep until lair? Ew. It would make for so much fun cheese early in the game.

Overlords drop creep, but not until lair is finished.

ZVZ SC2. Sunk rush w/ Ol creepcreation drone drop
Drop4 overlords in a hidden spot near his main, build sunkens with your now dropped drones.
Continue making creep all the way to the opponents creep and walk your now made sunkens into the base. Prefereably during an attack or other kind of diversion

Yo I have been using nydus quite a bit lately. Right now you can pop it down on any ground you have vision for. When it is created it quickly spawns some creep for you too. You just have to be aware that the worm only has 200 hp.

Btw, can you transport your Queen with Nydus/Overlords?
|
Yes, you can transport queens.
