Every loss I've had I've been able to understand my mistakes easily, but recently I lost a TVP where I'm not so sure what sort of army composition I'd have needed to win.
What do I need to make to counter a Protoss force mainly consisting of about 30 Zealots supported by about 5-6 Immortals and 7-8 Stalkers??
My army consisted mainly of Marauders with Reaper/Marine/Helion/Siege Tank support with a Raven and a couple Banshees (Yes I forgot Ghosts / EMP)
Is it just more Reapers/Helions > Zealots?
What is the best unit to fight Immortals with?

I dunno, you think Ghosts would have turned the game around? (it came down to one huge battle where I pretty much lost my entire army and killed maybe 10 Zealots if that)
|
30 zealots?? 5-6 Immortals? Every TvP build posted so far suggests a timing push at around 8-10 minutes usually with Marauders and Marines.
Also, Marines rip apart Immortals.

Interesting, I'll try out that build next time I play against toss.
But as far as mid-late game goes, how would I go about countering that army I mentioned? (we were both at about 130-140 supply I believe. I ended up losing about 50-60 supply worth of units in the battle and he only lost maybe 25-35 at most.)

Immortals only get the heavy shielding effect for their shield armor... EMP them and they're just tin buckets Mid to endgame TvP there's nothing quite like EMP.

Anyway, I am in the same boat. I'm in platinum and the protoss' are gonna rip my terran apart. I can't find a good army composition although ghosts with emp is certainly a good idea.

EMP > Immortals Upgraded Hellions > Zealots Tanks > anything that doesn't have a shield
Just a guess, mind.
Alt: timing push.

What I've been thinking (and that's sadly all I can do with no key >.>) that once ghosts become more used a great way to use them would be cloaking and leading your army with 2-4 ghosts waiting for them to find the P army. Once found you can use their snipe vs bio units to snipe off HTs before a battle or get an early preemptive EMP.
I see a great deal of potential here.

Yea I'm getting stomped by P in the lowly silver league. Although last game I did take out 5 high templar with one seeker missile.

Marines beat Zealots, Stalkers, and Immortals all pretty badly. If Protoss doesn't have splash, just spam the shit out of Marines. If Protoss does have splash, then u need to micro + counter the splash with EMP or air or something along those lines.
Hellions are pretty "mehh" vs zealots, Reapers are not very good in direct combat, and IMO Tanks blow vs Protoss. MM are good though.

Most of the resources of that Protoss army were spent in Zealots, and common sense tells me a huge mass of Hellions should be the proper counter to that particular threat, supported by Ghost/EMP. Sadly common sense is all I can offer, because not having the beta myself means I can't playtest.
