Also, the clues for the first day are probably very vague since if it was easy to pinpoint who it was the game would be imbalanced if the town had a couple very good suspects right off the bat.

Don't forget that the 2nd Mafia member called Qatol "Vile, dirty scum." Combine that with his meticulous nature then perhaps?

If that would put Ng5 under suspicion, then what about ghote? I google the name after seeing the beatle lyrics in his profile (possible reference to Apple) and Ghote is a detective in a series of novels. A detective would have that sort of calculating/cold nature, and there is also the possibility of the apple reference pointing to him.

After glancing at the voting thread, I'd like to point out that if anyone wants to run for office, you should be posting your campaigns here, rather than in the voting thread. The voting thread should only contain straightforward votes for elected officials and later for lynches, e.g. "I vote for Incognito."

The only thing I see so far that could possibly be inreference to this is on Jayme's profile, where it takes about garbage and getting rid of it. It is talking about python.... but then again if you were so inclined we could draw the link between snake and fruit(apple) from Adam and Eve.

I think those types of classifications are too vague... Hyperbola is a math term, so that could be construed as cold and calculating as well.

Maybe. The apple reference is what stood out to me the most, so I think I just really want to connect that to something. Although it definitely is, something.
The StimiLant/Tea connection seems the most solid to me though.

Interesting idea that cold/calculating could apply to Ghote also. Wouldn't the apple clue apply to the other murderer though?

oh wow what was I thinking
the apple connection is a bit less far-fetched, so if i were to suspect ghote of being mafia, it would be over that and not his name being an obscure reference to an indian mystery novel series

Is the link between apples/cleanliness to Jayme's profile too far fetched?

True, but I feel like chess could be a more solid connection since the objective of the game is to capture/"kill" your opponent's pieces by removing them from the board, and it could also be maybe a bloodless simulation of war, which might tie in with the clean thing (I know i'm REALLY reaching there... =P)
I agree that the Stim/highly caffeinated tea thing is the strongest link so far though, and couldn't that tie in to the first killer being hyped up causing him to perform barbaric and energetic actions?

I think so.
Perhaps we should worry about the election business before trying to determine mafia from the first clues. Even the ones that seem most solid to me (ghote/apples and stimilant/tea) are a bit far fetched.

yeah the apple is definitely a more solid link

Yeah but would Incognito/dreamflower know this? I definitely didn't, but if its more common knowledge than I think then thats really strong.

apple is a pretty big record label, and the beatles are a pretty important group so I wouldn't be surprised.

They might not have known it, but it wouldn't be difficult to find out if they were specifically looking for a clue to insert into the murders. Google is a wonderful ally to both us and them.

Ah yup, 3 of my friends knew it off the bat, so I guess I'm just out of the loop

just for future reference/consideration:
citi.zen's quote
"Aut viam inveniam, aut faciam." means I will either find a way or make one. It's taken from a Greek War Commander named Hannibal.
