just sell a video game or sell some antique to a pawn shop, then get it back when you have more money

grilled cheese will last you at three meals a day at least 3 days, an apple a day keeps the dr away, and tea is good, but you could get more bread or something instead. ill assume you do nothing but play starcraft all day so this should sustain you just fine

Just do what everyone else here said, go trade a game in somewhere, sell something, or take some of that shit back.

if you dont have the budget to buy a top of the line computer AND go $500 shopping at a mall then don't buy that much crap dude. start keeping track of your income, your expenses, and how much you usually spend on food and then the excess is what you can spend on shit for yourself. it's part of that whole "growing up" thingy.

And no, I'm usually very careful with my spendings, it's just I didn't expect rent and utilities to be so much for the new place, I have roughly $8000 in mutual funds and TFSAs, but those are untouchable at least on a short term. I'm 20, I look pretty young so I might just wear my baggy high school clothes and offer snow shoveling services to neighbors as a teenager or something. A bag of 5kg rice is only $5, plus I can always buy some instant noodles which are 4 for $1. Yah I'm a genius, brb with rice and noodles.

Go to the mall/food outlet and see if they have any free food samples. Sell stuff/return stuff as people have mentioned. Although honestly, if you need that plus $15 more for gas it seems like you're not going to be able to just squeeze by. Most likely you're going to have to sell something, borrow or make money somehow.

I´ve actually had the most cost-efficient day ever (saving money for my trip) and spend: Breakfast: Oat meal with some milk - 20 cents Lunch: 2 packs of noodles (theye were 30 cents a piece so 60 + 20 carrots 60 cents) = 1,20 dinner: Pork on sale with "potatoes" (raggmunk, dunno what its called in english) = 1,30 Total: 2, 70 dollars Thats about how cheap you can get it if you want to still be able to think straight, at least in sweden!
