Sweet!
I just got an invite to Voddler, an application that is similar to Spotify, with the difference that it streams movies in high quality without any costs on the user part.
It's been alot of talk about Voddler for a long time now and I remember signing up for the beta over a year ago and now it's here. I'm thrilled! This might bring along a huge revolution in internet-streaming instead of downloading movies illegally.
Apparently it's only available in Sweden atm, but their website says:
"Is Voddler available only in Sweden? Yes, at the moment Voddler is only available in Sweden.
But we will spread the magical world of movies – Voddler – to other countries. Norway is first on our “conquer the world”-tour, where we expect to launch in the beginning of 2010. Next is other Nordic countries, followed by Europe and then the rest of the world are up for a great movie service."

Just wow.

Congrats, I think it'll be cool. I did read that some norwegian movie companies had some issues to resolve with voddler first, though. Anyways, it's great that we norwegians are next in line!

GL negotiating with the MPAA is all I have to say!

I can get an account through my isp, just haven't bothered to call them for it. Let me know if it's worth a five minute phone call.

There's already ALOT of american movies on there. I think Voddle actually have deals with all the major american movie companies. It works the same way that spotify does, with advertising.
After just playing around with it a little right now I gotta say the interface is damn slick. No lagging so far, crisp quality, you can fast forward/backward up to x16 I think. It looks very, very promising. I just started watching "Che" and it plays like a charm. They have like 20 different genres, including documentaries, some of which aren't that mainstream/american.
It's sick! If this works out well it will be awesome. Automated subtitles in your language (I'm sure this can be changed to other languages as well).

It is I would say so far. It's so easy to use, and theres quite a big selection of movies already but they will add more movies all the time.
Oh, and they also have tv-series coming up! You can't watch any tv-series yet but they are about to be launched :D

Wow this is awesome. But how can they allow users to stream for free? Advertising before and after movies or something or during a television show like Hulu.com does?

Yeah it's awesome!
Here's what the interface looks like:

Ghostwriter: There were like 4 commercials before the movie, and there are commercials after the movie in the free version. There will also be a pay version where you get rid of commercials and perhaps some other perks. But like the commercials are maybe 5 minutes tops so it doesn't really matter imo.

fuck i don't mind watching a 10 min commercial if i can watch a free movie in good quality after wards

dude, first invite you get better be directed my way!

You know hulu has a lot of TV shows and movies as well. I can't imagine the streaming being better than actually dling the file and playing it locally on your comp.

Spotify is amazing, its become one of my must have programs. Voddler sounds great but i cant see it working without massive ad breaks.
