Since I have an interesting educational situation, (I'm a first year mid-year student meaning I start school in January) I figured it was finally time I go about buying a college laptop. A friend referred me to a very nice bargain on Slickdeals.
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1655999
Default stats: - Intel Core 2 Duo processor T6600 - 15.6 HD WLED Glossy, 1366x768 with 1.3M integrated Camera - Windows 7 Home Premium (64 Bit) - 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 - 500GB Hard Disk Drive - nVidia Geforce G 210M graphic card with 512MB memory(upgradable to 240M) - Bluetooth - DVD Recordable drive - 6 Cell Lithium-Ion 2.6Ah battery
I paid $579 for it after messing with some settings, and with taxes it came up to just over 600 dollars.
I ended up downgrading the hard drive (to 320GB), removed blue tooth, and got the less shiny one. I did however upgrade the graphics card to the 240M because even though I'm not a huge gamer, I think the 240 would be just enough power for games like Starcraft 2 in the future. The resolution might be a problem at 1366 by 768, but it's one I'm willing to live with.
Unfortunately, the deal ended about 10 minutes after my order went through, however there's still a coupon for 15%. Sorry guys, but I'm sure there will be an even better deal tommorrow.

Partially, but I also want to know what people think about the laptops stats and overall performance.

Incredible price for the money, good job.

Nice price for something that will run it med-high. Grats.
Anyone that's looking to buy a laptop should use http://www.notebookcheck.net/ BTW. I've never seen such a detailed site. It's got everything you need to know!

Excellent laptop! Hope it runs SC2 smoothly!

600 dollars for a laptop like that? Man I'd instantly buy that also.

That's one hell of a deal!

I hope you're joking... Edit: forgot to look at the graphics card.. Still doubt it will have any issue running sc2.. (I dont know the graphics card itself)

Should be able to run sc2. Nothing else is important. gg

Since he upgraded it to 240M it will run sc2 med-high np, if it was 210M then it will have problems possibly even at medium.

Pretty decent laptop, too bad no centrino2 but not a big deal i dont think. The screen size is the only thing that would bug me about that, i'm at 1680x1050 and i can't imagine using anything smaller now that i've used it.
