2 days ago my grandfather passed away. Everyone is still mourning for him. I just remembered that today is my birthday.
Guess this year will be the same as the last few years - no party.

I remember losing my granpa 3 years ago, worst 2 months of my life. All the best to you and your family.

Condolences.

My grandfather died about a year ago. When I remember him I think about good things I can do that would make him proud, and that makes me feel ok about it. I hope your mom/dad is doing alright, since losing a parent is really hard.

I know how you feel, my mom passed away on june 14th. My birthday is nov 15th. I don't really see myself celebrating this year.

i wouldnt be upset about something as trivial as your birthday in the light of your grandfathers death
youre either very young or very silly
he wouldnt want you pissed if he was still around

My condolences. My grandfather passed away very recently as well. Although we were not very close (since he lived in another country entirely), I still understand how you must feel.

I personally do not celebrate birthdays (to me, they are just another day of the year), but it is a shame your own birthday was affected by such a tragic event. Still, I congratulate you on your day of birth and I hope you and your family will be well.

Well, I think it might not have been the best time to bring it up, especially as OP said he'd even forgot it was his birthday? Anyway, I think this isn't the right place so I'll leave it at that.

My deepest condolences on your loss. And I think heyoka's right, in a few weeks, have a party, celebrate your birth and the life of your grandfather, and all the experiences you had with him. I think that's just as important as mourning this loss.
