Team Liquid Idol comes alive for its much-anticipated opening season in October 2009. Hosted by me, Falcynn, this forum's soon to be No. 1 hit series empowers contestants and viewers to share their voices in deciding who will be Team Liquid's next singing superstar! This opening season promises to deliver amazing, undiscovered talent with plenty of surprises along the way.
The Rules (subject to change)
-You can sing to any song you prefer. However you must provide the backing track (or sing a capella if you prefer), and the track must not contain any vocals. All vocals included in the final product must come mostly from yourself. Limited back-up vocals are okay if you can't find anything better. If you find something you feel is questionable, submit it anyways (chances are I'll allow it).
-You will send the music file to ME. I'll be accepting e-mail submissions only. TLidolContest at gmail dot com. You may post your song in this thread or wherever you'd like if you want to share it with everyone prior to the voting, but to officially enter you need to email me. This is mostly to make it easier for me to keep everything organized. In the e-mail, make sure you include your username.
-If you can't sing, submit anyways! It'll make this contest a lot more interesting to hear all ranges of singing talents from all of the posters.
-All languages welcome! No rules as to what/how you can sing, as long as the vocals supplied in your music track is 100% yours, then you can do whatever you want. While I'd prefer it if you didn't go crazy dubbing a shitload of vocal tracks on top of each other, doing crazy chorus effects, and auto-tuning, I'm not going to disallow them at this time.
-At the end of your recording (or beginning if you prefer), you must make a quick blurb mentioning Team Liquid. This is probably the easiest way to make sure that all entries are legit. I doubt anyone would try to cheat this contest, but as it's a fairly simple step, there shouldn't be any harm in it.
-If you want to submit multiple submissions, then I'd suggest you to go ahead and do it, but in the email, tell me which one will be your primary submission. So if there's a huge wave of contestants entering and I have to drop the limit to one per person, I'll still know right away which ones to keep.
- The DEADLINE IS October 17 16:00 TL time. After this time has passed, I'll set up a voting thread ASAP with all songs in a .rar file along with youtube links where you can stream them all easily (I hope for this contest, people will excuse the poorer quality of youtube audio).
-Once the voting thread is up, you may submit your votes to the email provided above listing your top 3 singers (no voting for yourselves!) and I'll post the winners one week from the time of the voting thread being posted.
Happy singing and good luck!
You may all still choose and find your own song if you prefer, however if you don't feel like looking around, or you can't decide, here's a .rar file of a few instrumentals I found fairly quickly.
