It doesn't surprise me one bit that the same people are running for mayor. These guys always seem to be able to direct the town; however this also comes with a huge risk. These people could be mafia and, if so, we will never know unless we choose to lynch them. Each candidate should explain why they would be a good Mayor AND a good Pardoner. Both roles are going to be crucial in this game, and if you're running, you could be either or.
So here's an early vote count:
Caller: (1) Ver
Fishball: (1) Molongo
Ver: (5) Caller Scaramanga Mynock 0cz3c Dreamflower
Mynock: (4) LucasWoj MikeyMoo Ace Amber[LighT] *
Only 1/3 of the game has voted so far, excluding myself. *I'm going to go ahead and throw my vote out for Mynock. I've played mafia with him a number of times and I trust he will be the best Mayor AND Pardoner. Communication might be better off if we switch up who gets the mayor spot. Though Caller and Ver would be great choices as well, if Mynock drops out I would vote for either of them.

*I skipped BloddyC0bblers vote for Ver, so Ver has 6. Sorry -_-

god, chuiu's last game was retarded for the vig talk, it was over discussed and seriously counter productive.
Vigi's get confirmed via kills yes, and works a crapload better if you can analyze your own hit. and provided your not a prime suspect already you can normally slide under the radar.
As a general note, as this was a rule brought about in chuiu's last game.
Elected roles cannot be proven, remember even more closely whos being put in there.

Also im heading to work now, be back tonight

Oh I should mention I want to be Mayor/Pardoner because I just don't trust medics or townies in general to protect me. Last game was really the last straw for me in that regard :/

It's also the reason I'd never vote for you Caller. You are just terrible in any position where you get to make decisions alone v_v

Hey guys.
I really am running.
I got a plan.
A little bit of trust here guys....

I would have protected you last game, Ace, if you weren't hit by some crazy vigilante. I just didn't think you needed it since you were under such suspicion at the time that the mafia would be crazy to hit you.
So far the thing I like most is what Ace said about Mynock. Everyone else's vote/opinion seems to be based on behavior from past games. If I just go by what people say about previous game accolades then there are way too many good candidates to choose from and really no way to distinguish between them, especially for me since I've only played in one previous game (though I've looked over a few other games).

good thing there are two positions then, no?

Besides the fact that I know I'm great at this game, know how to look at the big picture, and know how to read (^_^) let me just point out one more thing: I have the best SAVIOR sense out of anyone in the game. Easily. What this means is I can easily spot a bs bandwagon for an innocent player and follow the trail to mafia, or in other cases explain how a person is innocent or why they shouldn't die. In game 2 when the town wanted to lynch Ghar I professed he was most likely innocent - and he was. In the game where BC got the Village Idiot role and convinced people to lynch mikeymoo who was it that rose to his defense so strongly? me. Because I saw the true meaning behind the scenario. Remember last game? How I once again jumped to JeeJee's defense even though there was "evidence" and a big ass bandwagon against him? Yup, JeeJee was innocent too. How about that time in Tracil's game when I was a medic and saved NatsuTerran(the cop) on Day one with only 1 read of the game and no PMs? ^_^ See guys, I'm good at behavior analysis and seeing the game as one big puzzle. I don't jump to conclusions, I play with my head on straight, and I ALWAYS have a plan. Always. Oh yeah, and I'm usually persuasive. Right now the only candidate I think is right for the town is Mynock. Every game we've played we have been on the exact same page. He thinks just like I do and has an intuition for when there's bullshit afoot. However, Ver and BC would just as well get my vote if that were the only reason. So why then? Read his post: he is the only one that pointed out that the Mayor and Pardoner really are not that different.Whoever is running should be glad to get either so that once they are protected they can do some damage and not just sit around bulletproof. Both of those roles are powerful and the town needs them to win. With all that said, I'm hoping enough people vote for me. We all know how dangerous I can be in office to The Mafia.
Ace, I'm almost positive at this point that you are indeed mafia. I'm watching TV right now but I'll be back soon to prove it.

Hahaha lucaswoj, well played
I just got back home from a crazy night of revelry and it's 5am and I'm on TL. After doing some catchup (I'm defintely going to have to read these again when I wake up) I think a good combo for town leadership would be Ace/Showtime. I'd be happy with Ver/Mynock swapping in for one of those places, but I'd really like to see Ace/Showtime in an elected position, preferrably both.

Ver is no doubt very intelligent and puts a tremendous effort into the game, but he lacks the ability to get under peoples skin. Showtime, Caller, and Ace have that ability in spades. And that is a larger part of Mafia than I think many players realize. It's not enough to just be able to pin down and call out Mafia members with definitive proof or verbose appeals to the town. You need to make Mafia and the supposed town uncomfortable, mad at you, and you need to be able to be able to throw out random insults or vague accusations without remorse. I think Ver is much too polite for that. I'd rather see him in Pardoner role assisting the mayor, but not having the primary voice.
I think I'd prefer either Ace or Showtime in the mayoral spot. Ace has proven his ability to lead in the past, as well as provided TL Mafia with it's first real glimpse at good town structuring. Showtime on the other hand has not really ever been in a leadership position but, as far as I can tell, has been a constant commodity to it's various faces throughout TL Mafia. I'd like to see how he'd approach the game from a leadership perspective.
Mynock and BloodyC0bbler are known to have intelligent views in general and are active contributors in the game, but I think a leadership role needs to be more than protection for those who can pin Mafia down.
So, if I were the collective town consciousness I would be aiming for Ace as Mayor and Ver as Pardoner. As is, I'm voting for Showtime, simply because I'm curious and think he might do well if given the chance.

Seems not to be too many posts for my liking, although the election is completely opposite of what happened last game since we have a lot of candidates. So I decided to try my hand at clue analysis.
The satisfaction on their faces was as plain as the horror that must surely be on his own.
nemY?
In his profile picture the emotions of both people are kinda ambiguous, perhaps pointing to the satisfaction/horror depicted here? Although Qatol uses the word "plain" to modify horror, so perhaps this is not a clue??
Behavior could fit...why are you running for mayor exactly?
Off the coast of Liquidia, there was no moon to illuminate the night sky.
Maybe this fits with regards to LucasWoj's profile?
Arrow, scythe, hammer. Moonlight. Alley.
However, the lights on the deck of the SS Liquidia were more than sufficient for the events that were about to transpire.
Its dark. But its apparently everything could be seen. Clearly. Perhaps dreamflower?? The picture in dreamflower's profile has a dark background, but it is pretty easy to see the details in the flower.
And where is everyone? Thread seems a little dead for a vet game...unless a lot of people are talking in pms, but still, the thread needs to be alive people!

MTF I don't think it matters too much whether Ver gets mayor or pardoner, if he is elected (though my gut feeling is that he will be). As Ace and Mynock have pointed out, there really is no difference in the two roles this game, although I suppose you can argue that town is more likely to listen to the mayor than the pardoner. However, I think it's more important to make sure we elect the right 2 people, rather than focus on who gets what spot which is harder to control and probably not as relevant.
You do bring up a good point though about the ability to bait players, and generally be frustrating for the other side. I wasn't considering that before, but it is certainly important.
Personally I am between voting for Ace or Showtime. There's no shortage of good candidates this game, which makes deciding actually kind of harder...

If I don't get elected I will eat your babies.
I know you love babies man don't fuck this up.
|
there really is no difference in the two roles this game Yes there is. Voting in a townie mayor gives us a 25% shot at killing a mafia, and voting in a mafia pardoner sets us back an entire day, which is essentially 3 extra town deaths.
Either way, at this point a few people have played their poker and sent tells as to what their roles are.

Oh god, the stakes are much too high now
I cant handle this kind of pressure
