I'm sorry..what? asians can walk around times square without getting stared at? there has to be something i'm missing because in my experience this is totally false. yes, i'm white and from brooklyn but i've been through times square plenty of times with friends of varying ethnicity and never have had a problem.

I live in the NYC area and I'm Indian. You come across in your posts like a guy who loves to posture as the poor oppressed victim. LOL "everyone's looking at us" in NYC. People don't look twice at circus freaks in NYC, yet they're looking at you? Maybe you have some other problem?

That place is swarming with Asians, I can't imagine people stare at you because you're Asian, your self consciousness must be completely in your head. edit: I can't get over that you distinguished between Times Square and Union Square by saying one is a "more liberal area" that therefore don't stare at Asians. I'll respond this and every other post. I am pointing out, Asian guy + hot caucasian girl in Times Square, you will get looks. Many many many of them. Also for the one white guy at Brooklyn responding, that's cute because I know when I was riding with one of my ex down near Sheepshead, I've had a guy stare at us the ENTIRE trip. Also, if you guys really think I'm whining about the situation, it's quite the opposite. I've been in a relationship more often than single. In fact, aside from my junior high days, I've rarely had to deal with racism on a personal level.

Thanks--kind of true. But still doesn't take away from the fact that her boyfriend is a loser.

Hey dumbshit, you have a fucking girlfriend and you care about how stupid some other girl's boyfriend is? She is a "dream in the air"? I feel sorry for your girlfriend because you are a douchebag, it's people like you who are prone to cheating even though you have a girl who clearly likes you, at least more than you like her. Many people aren't that fortunate/minimally socially capable to have a girlfriend in the first place, and yet you don't appreciate what you have and have the hots for some random chick? I hope your girlfriend finds this and dumps you so you realize how miserable you are without her, thinking about some girl who is taken when you already have one. Have you ever thought that maybe there is more to this "dumbass" boyfriend than you see if the girl YOU seem to want so badly is with him? I don't think she is just lonely and incapable of doing better from what you said, I think you are just too much of a dumbass (like you said, but for a different reason) to see it. In your post you have shown that you are a belligerent drunk, unappreciative ass, bad boyfriend at least in this respect and probably others, and a retard in terms of your racial perception of the world. I think you need a reality check. You got something going for you and like a pig you try to get more and more, is Emily not enough for you? If so, then I think you should do both yourself and her a favor and end it now before she finds out (and trust me, they ALWAYS find out) that you harbor so much shit under the surface. Imagine if she read this, how would she feel? Now, realize the fact that YOU, her BOYFRIEND, wrote it. How does that make YOU feel?

Imagine if she read this, how would she feel? Now, realize the fact that YOU, her BOYFRIEND, wrote it. How does that make YOU feel? I've thought about it for awhile too. I told her tonight and she seemed to take it ok. She asked if I'd ever thought about doing anything with XXXXX, and I could truthfully tell her no because, even if I could get away with it scot-free because I wouldn't be able to forget all the times she just gave me the cold shoulder and treated me like shit, and those sorts of memories kind of get in the way. I don't want that girl, I get pissed when I see her with a boyfriend who is clearly a leech. And I think that other posters have already answered why my OP is not racist in intent. I apologize for the awkward nature of it. It's not every day that I write about something like this, after all.

I'm glad you think it's cute...? Sheepshead Bay is sort of a shit hole, home to a bunch of close minded white folks for sure. If it helps, there's a decent chance he wasn't even being racist - just a stupid, big mouthed fuck. I dunno, I hate that neighborhood. I was just talking about Times Square. I mentioned that I was white and from Brooklyn only because I wanted to admit that my experience could obviously have been different from yours.

Wow how is grad school "avoiding life"? They tell you specifically that you won't make it in grad school if that is what your looking for. Infact as a Philosophy major to get a job he pretty much HAS to go to grad school if he wants to actually work in the field. Philosophy has plenty of jobs in the academic sector as its AN ACADEMIC CAREER. I myself am going to grad school for biological anthropology and it the one thing that sucks about it is the fact that my real life is on hold (hard to get funds for wedding and starting family etc) so yea it does kind of put your life off a couple of years but its not why people do it. They want to work in the field and to do so they need to be highly educated.

WTF man I seriously miss those days where I worried about school and the girls that I had liked in school. Now all I worry about is when I get my days off from the army. Sheesh.
