OS X... where's the mouse acceleration?

RekcaH United States190 Posts February 08 2009 09:35 GMT #1 I just got a macbook pro and there's almost no mouse acceleration and no way to adjust the mouse acceleration. It's practically impossible to play SC like this. I tried a few aps like iMouseFix and Microsoft Mouse but it's still wrong, needs more acceleration. I know some of you use OS X so what did u guys do to fix this?

RekcaH United States190 Posts February 08 2009 09:44 GMT #4 Well when I move the mouse precisely (like trying to split probes), it feels like the mouse isn't even moving.... Is that because of mouse acceleration or because of the lack of mouse acceleration?

paper 13196 Posts February 08 2009 09:49 GMT #5 mouse acceleration is basically this the cursor speeds up even though you retain constant speed over your mousepad. also, when you're making small distances, it will decelerate to give you a more "precise" aim unfortunately, mouse acceleration is bullshit and basically anyone who plays SC does NOT want acceleration as it messes up your accuracy. i don't understand how apple made mouse acceleration default and unchangeable in their OS

I use USB Overdrive with my Razer Copperhead and it works like a charm. Google a serial for it if you don't want to pay >)

Vasoline73 United States7745 Posts February 08 2009 17:01 GMT #17 I would recommend getting XP on your mac. You can get an OEM copy pretty cheap on eBay and I actually just did it to play Starcraft + chaos + iccup launcher. Worth it if you ask me :D

Now I only watch a replay now and then, so I dont need iccup launcher etc. So I dont use bootcamp anymore. IF you're going to play in OS X, I also recommend http://doublecommand.sourceforge.net/index.html to e.g. remap the fn key in bottom left to ctrl

RekcaH United States190 Posts February 08 2009 19:34 GMT #19 Even with steermouse and usb overdrive I couldn't get the mouse to feel right. I guess its bootcamp for me or I'll just use my old PC for SC.

liger13 United States1060 Posts February 08 2009 19:35 GMT #20 ok first... open your window... take your mac... drop out the window (works better if you above the first floor) go out, grab a PC... install SC, goto ctrl panel, mouse settings, pointer options, and uncheck pointer precision
