Its like the first time i've seen sAviOr play modern (i.e. post-sAviOr ) starcraft without having to wince any point because I knew that a better zerg wouldnt be making that decision/mistakel (excluding Blizzcon where he also looked very strong) he ate bisu.

Still, i was even more impressed with how easily Zero just dismantled Bisu. Destination has been pretty balanced, and Zero played it very straight up, exactly the way Bisu is comfortable playing PvZ. Destination has been really weird. Look at the map statistics: PvZ since 12/9 (hyvaa vs anytime proleague) has been 14-1 in favor of the zerg. But before that it was 19-11 in favor of the protoss. What the hell happened there?

I don't think savior is "back", the SC pro scene evolved and he is not Jaedong's level. Zero played better than Savior? O_o Destination's ZvP's are like.. Z is on a 11-win streak or something. Bisu didn't play that well either... Zero had great muta micro and pretty good defense against the DT harrass but Bisu really wasn't playing like himself. And for some reason Bisu thought that delaying storm is an amazing idea.

I'm still happy to see Savior advancing because I like his games (and July's) always fresh, based more on intuition than careful planning, but I also hate disappointments and so I like Jaedong since his more consistent with the best execution overall.

He shut down Bisu so completely that he was never able to really expand beyond his natural until the last few minutes of the game when it was already completely over. Savior kept Bisu on his toes by harassing constantly and dropping multiple times, as well as playing clutch and sniping off shuttles and observers and Bisu was not able to respond well. His nerves got the best of him, he was playing pretty badly overall. Bisu choked hard, I dunno what he was thinking in the end, I think he was too stunned to even gg as all his bases were getting destroyed (in fact I believe he was eliminated). That's why he played so badly later on and didn't advance. It's a shame that a player of his caliber just messed up so badly. If savior can keep this up, I think he will advance far into the tournament. I hope he does well. I like Bisu as a player, but in all honesty he got owned this game, no denying it. Savior had a HUGE lead after those initial zergling allin. He killed around 11-13 probes, everything at the expo expect 2 probes. That's HUGE. Savior won because of that play. He would have either took the game longer / lost if he didn't get such an early lead. Bisu didn't choke, he was just extremely shaken after the first zergling rush.

Wasn't it an elimination war? It's kind of sad that I don't remember considering I watched it live this morning, but i thought Savior was mined out, just about mined out, or running off half a base or something. If that was the case, Bisu still could have won considering he still had quite a large army that was much more durable than Savior's own. In any case, I am pretty sad Bisu got eliminated this early. Even if you hate the guy, the excitement he would have brought to a BoX vs. Savior/jaedong/flash ect. would have been undeniable. On the bright side, at least now I can cheer all in for Savior and not have to worry about two of my favorite players meeting up again in the Ro8. What I'm curious to see is Bisu's response in GOM/Proleague. He will either a) have his confidence crushed and go into a slump, or b) he will be fucking PISSED and go on a rampage destroying GOM and all-killing everything in proleague. Hoping it's the latter (unless he's vs. STX or CJ!) SC needs a protoss bad guy, and of all the dragons I'd much rather have it be Bisu (or Kal! <3) than someone boring like Jangbi or Stork.

Bisu didn't choke, he was just extremely shaken after the first zergling rush. he had to cut a lot of drones in order to produce those zerglings, his lead was not as massive as you make it out to be. Bisu was very much still in the game after those zerglings died. My point is that with harasses like that, savior was able to keep bisu on his toes and shut down his expansions, ensuring that bisu was never able to macro beyond more than 2 bases and amass a massive army. Doing so really cost bisu his confidence in his play, which is why he played subpar in the rest of the games.

All in? Okay... Savior made maybe 20 lings or so. That's 10 drones. Z's have less drones than Protoss so drones are a bit more valuable than Probes I think. Savior came out ahead, but just a tiny bit. It wasn't nearly as much as you're making it out to be... On January 16 2009 10:41 erin[go]bragh wrote: Wasn't it an elimination war? Around the 18th minute of the game, they gave a view of all the bases of Savior. The minerals in the main and nat were at the second lowest state, so they had a couple hundred minerals per patch. If you can remember, the third running base wasn't savior's third, but his fourth. It still had plenty of minerals left, and wasn't even close to running out. At the end Savior prepated a flank attack against Bisu's army with mass hydra. He'd likely have beat at least most of it(If you can remember, he had no reavers left, and wasted most of his storms at 5 o'clock), and with 3 base hydra pump would have been able to take the rest of them out. It wasn't an elimination race at all.
