Is anyone from here? I just moved here from Huntington Beach and I need to know where the best Thai, Pho`, and Sushi places are. I know quality/service comes at a price usually but I obv. would prefer non-overpriced menus. This is one of the major problems with Asian restaraunts, They either overprice or have shitty service. There are so many too, its so hard and time/money consuming to try and find one that actually has good food.
I usually order Pho Ga/Pho Tai, Pad Thai chicken/noodles, Spicy Tuna Rolls/Miso soup when I get asian Cuisine.
Panda Express just isn't cuttin it anymore.

Maybe it's just me, but 'dank' sushi doesn't conjure up positive mental images. O.o

I'm a HB local.. where in HB did you stay at?? As for sushi restaurants in the LB.. ive been to the sushi studio.. as the guy above me stated.. its a little hole in the wall, but its good and Kings Fish House, which is a corp. restaurant, but their seafood is so good. They are located on Broadway.

I used to live on Magnolia/Adams HB, Now I live off Clark/Willow in LB. There are 2 other people that I met on b.net that are from HB. So far I'm the best in HB, lol. I also met a few dudes from Costa Mesa. If you didn't know So Cal sc players have been doing Lan/tourneys for the passed year or so. Next one is in Late Dec/ Early Jan at Howie's in Westminster Mall. You should come. btw, My bnet west ID is SpoR
In HB there is Thai Pepper (which is so fucking bomb, lunch special can't be beat) Right across from In N Out. Pad Thai Chicken, comes with fried rice, Fried pork wonton, and Salad 5.33$ and they let you pick the spicy level 1-10 (I do 8). I was so addicted to this place last summer. If it were closer to work/home I would have eaten there seriously like every day. Full Moon Sushi has pretty good deals 'Full Moon Special'. You get Miso, 8 cut spicy tuna rolls, Teriyaki Chicken, Salad, and an Orange 9.00$. Other than that on Wed/Thurs Market Broiler has Half off Sushi which is pretty damn good and good sized. Another one just opened in Costa Mesa too. There is a new Pho place that opened up in the WalMart shopping center called Pho Bowl and they have pretty good Pho Tai (I think the chicken is good too) for 6.50~ extra large bowl. They also have this bomb ass filet mignon with onions,red/green pepers, and rice for like 7$~. Other than that I've always gone to Westminster for Pho.
BoT, I found this chinese food place on Anahiem/Redondo that seriously had a line out the door. Not bad and great deal and price. It was 5.25$ for 2 items with half/half fried rice & Chow mein plus and eggroll and a soda. Coincidentally my roommate used GPS for CHINESE FOOD, went to the same fucking place later that night without knowledge of me going there. I was actually trying to go to this Pho` restaraunt that is right near it but they were closed. Supposed to be one of the best places, Haven't eaten there yet but I will on Saturday when its my day off (they have weird hours afaik). Defaulty, My gf's dad goes there like every thursday with his work buddies and some other guys. They have a secret sized bowl called a 'pineapple bowl' which is 10$ named after some simoan guy who wasn't filled up by the Ex. Lrg bowl, lol.
2 coincidences in one night O_O.
PS- I don't like seafood, except tuna.

I tried to go there after work, was closed down. Fire or some shit. There was a sign directing me to Carson/Lakewood ' I luv sushi' which is supposed to be sister store or something. So I go over having not eaten anything all day (bad idea). Waited for like 40 minutes for 1 seat which I didn't understand because parties of 4 and shit were being seated before me. So I finally just asked for togo order and came home. Food is good, bit overpriced and shitty service (well it is friday night so I dunno).

So, stoked. There is a Pho` place going up 3 doors down form my work. (now I have something to look forward to on Hangover work days)

The wait is always long at sushi studio, so i expected it to be real long there since sushi studio burned down and now everyone goes to the one location. Which rolls did you get when you were there? My favorites are the crunchy roll and the las vegas roll.
