ya it was weird, also thought Colby looked really sloppy, very open

Maybe just so scared of the take down?
Turner looked really good and I want to see the new Nurmagomedov against some good competition.

I don't think Colby looked sloppy. His straight punches, mostly jabs, were crisp and on point, he got almost a dozen of them in a row at some point. His crosses were another story but I felt like their goal wasn't to deal damage - just a side bonus if they did - but to check his entry points against Masvidal for the takedowns. The pressure was there, and he dealt with the reversals on the ground masterfully, he was never threatened on the ground. Sure his boxing looked better against Usman, but the gameplan was different, blows were his path to victory in those two fights. Merely a set up during this fight.
For Masvidal, maybe he should just stick with strikers, I don't think he has another run at the belt (isn't he 36 or 37?) considering the beasts on the way. Just give him Wonderboy for a rematch. I don't want to see him go through Nate Diaz again, first fight was tough to watch already.
And Turner looked so good I agree!
"Rusty" RDA also signed a great performance to boot, he didn't let Moicano much of a chance. I was a bit disappointed in Marina Rodriguez, she still won but I felt like it shouldn't have been this close, maybe an off day on her part.

Odd for her to call for a title shot after she could have easily lost that but I guess you got to try. I think RDA is in the tough spot of being a top 5 but not a top guy but he is durable enough and good enough ground that I guess he still has a chance.
I agree on Masvidal. Maybe vs conner, will sell both need a big win to re-elevate themselves.

Colby was lunging off-balanced with wild, inaccurate attacks early in the fight. Looked like someone who picked apart Till and Diaz should've had a field day with that, but there weren't many attempts at counters. Sure, Colby's wrestling was superior, and once he had worn Masvidal down, he was able to unleash some lengthy combos. The fight didn't live up the the hype, especially from Masvidal's end. He puts on the "street Jesus" persona, and there's supposed to be bad blood here, but he let himself lose the fight more than Colby won it.

McKee vs Pitbull 2, hopefully we'll see McKee light him up & get a win. Then, maybe he can move on to the UFC?
|
I guess not. I would like to see both those fuys in the UFC but I do not think either are title conteders top 10 guys. Featherweight is super stacked. I could be wrong but I do not see them getting past volkansoki, holloway, ortiz and so on.
Both LHW would be top 5 but that is also a pretty shallow div in the UFC

That was a really good card. Some real exciting prospects in dawson and romanov and the main event will be in the fight of the year conversation.

Missed the card, but I can't believe Font got wrecked. I was always a fan after he knocked out Roop in a highlight-reel KO.
But he's really only lost to the top of the crop, so I figure Vera is sure deal.

But he's really only lost to the top of the crop, so I figure Vera is sure deal. It was a bonkers fight. Font won round 1 pretty clealry. Round 2 was was close goos scrap but then Vera knocked him down and was pounding him out but saved by bell. Rd 3 font winning round again last 30 seconds Vera knocks him down and pounds him till font saved by the bell. Round 4 font winning the round again, dude is all offense he ends up with over 200 significant strikes landed lots of good ones, last bit vera knocks him down and font is saved by the bell. Fonts face is gross, hes taken half or something the shots but some big different head kicks and Vera much just hit harder, vera looks un touched.
Round 5 somehow font comes out and is AGAIN winning the round and then bop vera almost finishes again. If damage did not matter font wins that fight, if only damage matters Vera blew the doors off of him. It was both not close and hard faught.
Crazy fight.

This is crazy they just shuffelled the top 3 fights because khazmat missed weight. Now tony is fighting nate, holland vs khazmat, and rodrueiz vs li.
All pretty good fights but strange. I wonder how much everyone is getting paid extra?

i like this card much more tbh lol
|
Me too, I think there might be more buys this way. Some future 30 for 30 how this was planned imcluding the dust up yesterday if everyone was healthy.
|
The new card is so much better now, too bad I'm not going to be around to watch it live.
|
That change of the fight card made diaz so much money.

Is it going to be free? If I remember correct the last one there was because of the timezone.
