Agree with that. Only maps that stand out to me are Moondance, Stargazer, and Waterfall. And Moondance and Stargazer stand out because the expanding is even more free than usual Waterfall is the only map that looks like it could play somewhat different than usual because it looks a bit smaller, but maybe it isn't even smaller in reality. Cosmic Sapphire? I don't think we had a map like that that is so stretched wide. That looks like the most unique map to me

agree with that. Maybe we'll see more of their specifics when they get played out but at first glance they're very standard yeah

I can’t believe they’ve replaced the perfect map in Pride of Altaris, otherwise looks alright!

wow 4 maps in a pool that actually look decent to favored for terran in tvz. never thought id see the day. granted they also have waterfall, and tropical sacrifice. stargazers looks zerg favored but idk its weird so we will see how it plays out. maybe on this pool terran will be more competitive.
I think overall terran and protoss will benefit from this map pool with its combination of smaller maps and less maps with unclaimable edge bases that only zerg can reasonably grab. That's not a bad thing in my book.

i for one am glad its gone. it was incredibly strong for zerg with the big open areas+gold base+ really far edge bases.

Honestly I don’t think maps play as big a role in SC2 as BW

I think for the last 5-10 years many maps have been good for zerg by default with other races relying on explicitly added features like narrow chokes, cliffs and push paths to perform well. As P i'm unironically opening the maps and counting the squares on the chokes and ramps. If the map was just a flat plane with a large gap between opponents then i'd probably lose every PvZ.

I'm gonna miss a couple maps, and not miss a couple other ones. I like Stargazers a lot aesthetically, but I bet it gets vetoed a lot, because the few games I've played on it were rather underwhelming. It seems pretty odd, which can be good, but is not necessarily good.

Usually we complain when they don't announce new maps a week before a new seasons starts. Now they announce them way in advance, but we still have to wait month???
